He only started one. Was benched year 2 think he started like 4 or 5 games

Yeah, that’s my point. Lot of guys with hype, and I’m sure there are examples to the contrary, but I want my QB to be able to carry a team to wins in high school. Nickel finished his career 38-6 playing in either Georgia’s highest or second highest classification (re-classifications this year). When you combine that with actual ability, I feel good about it.

Garcia may have been the only one that won something meaningful in high school since Kaaya and there were some other red flags there lol. But none of them at nearly the consistency and against the same kind of competition as Nickel.

And agree on Rosier. I went to high school near where he did and I talked to a guy a couple years behind me that played them when he committed to Miami. “He sucks” were the exact words. Love what he did in 2017 but… yeah.

I have to say I have never seen a miami high school QB recruit this talented. He moves through his progressions, has a quick accurate release and his arm strength has continued to get better. He can even pick up some yards on the ground. He is 6'2" 220 now. I can see him adding another 10 pounds. If we don't get a heisman candidate in the portal I don't want anyone else. This kid is going to start multiple years here.

This play right here was sick the og route wasn't there so he lead him down the field just over the defender and just where he could get it,. I see him leading his receivers often, forcing them to catch the ball in the safest spot in the coverage. He had a TD right before halftime that was a seam put up high to big receiver. DB ran off the field in tears.

You talking about Malik? Pretty sure we started the season with him being the guy again. They probably had no choice but to abort but they thought they could ride him for another year which was clear he was supposed to be a one year bridge.
 
This kid does not impress me at all. I watched him for 2 years now and he seems average at best. This kid is not the answer for us. Now the kid Jones HS Dereon Coleman he’s baller, he reminds me of Charlie Ward. I think Coleman is future us. Luke will not start over Coleman.

I watched Garcia play at Grayson and Nickel at Milton and it’s not even close as to how much better Nickel is. People on CIS still don’t want to believe because he isn’t a 5 star. Even after he plays for UM we will have people doubting him because no rating service told them he is special.

Yeah I wasn’t trying to compare them at all. Just saying Garcia did at least win a state title. But like I said, a lot of other things going on there lol

Been saying since he committed that he was underrated. Winning 10 in Georgia 7A as a sophomore and putting up the numbers he did was crazy. The arm has definitely improved. It’s not elite, but it’s more than adequate given the accuracy, the IQ, the intangibles, the athleticism, etc.

Kid was insane tonight. Who the fücks what that means long term, but tonight he was straight up dynamite.

Glad we locked him up and gave him a chance to grow at QBU.

Accuracy for HS QB is exceptional and arm strength solid as well. He’s definitely improved arm strength and assume will take another jump after time on campus. Next step will be reading intricacies of college defenses. What he saw last night was vanilla and some easy throw against blown coverages. Great fit for our offense.
