Matthew Thomas was suppose to be a crown jewel for our class... its a big deal and its bad for FSU..it wont be the end of them but its a nice kick in the nuts to them!

Matthew Thomas wouldve been the "crown jewel" of our class b/c we need elite lbs... but this pipe dream of him actually coming to Miami was just that.

Also a lot of FSU fans were more upset about losing Stacy Coley then landing Matthew Thomas b/c they believe they are loaded at lb.

This situation is only a big deal b/c it is ongoing.... once it is settled, FSU is still going to sign a top 10 class.

I agree that its better for us for him to be at USCw though b/c of the fact that he is a kid from BTW.

As much as I want this to happen this is bad for CFB I hope they dont release him because then this adds to the diva **** that goes on in recruiting. This will be the first of a new thing to do sign your LOI then force your way because you dont like it there. Probably thought FSU would hand him the position, he should of looked at the depth chart and chose UM easily if its because of playing time or whatever reason. Looks like the kid wants to be far away, wonder why.

It's a common entitlement issue, but let's not pretend every single kid has those issues. This guy was literally my #1 defensive recruit in Florida for the last few years, but he revealed some character issues in this process. If anything, the recruiting process has become an extractor of underlying mentality issues.

If the anorexic Matty Beiber really wants to leave fspoo, then he needs to take the punishment that comes with it. Right on brother, and this is where Grace has closed the gap IMO. No denying Thomas' talent edge, or ceiling over Grace, but as we all know there is much more to the equation than that to have a successful career.

I think it is better for us that Matthew ends up on the west coast b/c of the impact that him playing for Fsu could have for BTW players that Miami is recrui.

Lucane mentioned chad thomas looking up to him and if im not mistaken patten was going to commit to fsu last year.... Thomas was already dissing miami and he wouldve definitely trashed the program at fsu.

I disagree that this will become a big trend. The much easier thing to do, which some high profile players have done in recent years (eg Stefon Diggs), is just wait to sign until a few weeks or a couple of months after signing day.
