That's what makes our haul even more impressive at this point. We have a high average, and they are all players with proven production to drive their ratings, not artificially propped up ratings based on old HS rankings.

I don't think its a matter of not being good enough for Miami as much as not being good enough for what he may be asking for in compensation to go into the portal vs NFL draft.

Exactly, I think Ewers would give us one of the best QBs in the conference and one of the better in the country. If we can sign someone in his range all the while filling out the rest of the roster with non JAGs, 100% do it.
 
I don’t know if this has been asked - but are we sure Ewers would be that interested in us?
I can easily see Ohio St or Oregon overreacting based on the results of the playoffs and try to bring him in.

Ohio St - obviously he started out there and could finish there with JS
Oregon would probably feel more comfortable starting Ewers over Dante Moore and Oregon got playmakers too.

And that’s not to mention others probably lurking, like ND

Fair point. And who knows if we could win the bidding war.

I would eliminate ND tho. They have QBs in waiting that they really like.

Cost of player is Y

When you have A's budget that is 25% larger than team Bs budget, Y doesn't impact them as much...
