USC d will still be soft. They’re spending their way to not being soft

I wouldn't discount Upshaw at wr but I see us adding a slot wr in portal. Totally agree with you about Nickel. Unless we bring in another major qb he eventually becomes qb over Emory. Love the portal adds at db. I just want the young linebackers to play already. Think DL will be fine. But we can't understate the importance of the next DC hire and whatever other staff changes are made. The defensive players need someone to teach real fundamentals and pit them in proper positions to succeed while playing the best guys regardless of age.I am intrigued as to how some guys will make a jump for us this next year. Guys like
- I’m excited for Nickel at QB. Period. Whatever Development Emory has had thus far I think is ultimately surpassed by Nickel one way or another. He’s the goods
- RB Lyle should REALLY shine next year, he has flashed massive potential. Him + Fletcher will be a good duo (but would love Martinez to come back and we have a 3 headed monster) Pringle was a great addition to this room
- WR Trader/Carr/Robinson + how Josh Moore & Toney will look intrigues me, adding Daniels was huge and either bringing back Horton or another portal receiver would really change this room. I wonder if they move Fitzgerald to WR?
- TE Schott is talented and I wouldn’t be surprised is Lofton takes a role similar to DJ Dallas’ role when he was with us. Probably need a solid TE 1 here because we saw how valuable areoyo was for our offense
- Bell, Mauigoa, McCoy, Rodriguez returning all should progress + SJ could be a day 1 talent. Potentially adding Brockermyer really shapes that room up nicely.
- Pickett/Lightfoot/McConathy/Blount should all make a jump at DE, Bain being healthy should help as well. Add Lowe and Scroggins to the mix and I feel good here tbh. Very talented room with diversity. Maybe 1 portal DE with multiple years left that can develope
- we need 1 of: Moten/Scott/Jones to take the next jump which I believe can/will happen (possibly 2 with Moten coming on late and Scott being super talented) adding Blay would be great here.
- Hayes/Pruitt/Aguirre should make a jump both in S&C and scheme (I pray we get a DC that knows how to utilize our talent), Wiley is a strong addition to that room too. Bissainthe is who he is imo
- Frédérique should make a jump for us and Ewald/Antione should be impact guys for 2026 but doubtful for 25’, hopefully Mack can make a jump but we absolutely need an infusion of talent & depth. If we can get high end multi year guys (Lucas, Brantley & 1 other would be massive) in the portal our DB depth will be fixed imo
- Patterson SHOULD take that next jump and guys like Dylan Day have flashed and hopefully makes that next jump as well but adding Poyser was massive and we probably need 1 more. It’s a shame Wallace is coming in hurt, also curious how Thomas has progressed since his injury. I will say it again but having our safeties be Harris & Powell did us in.
IDK HOW MANY WHIFFS THOSE MFERS HAD COMBINED BUT HOLY **** it was bad…. If we had Kinchens & Williams (or even just 1 of them) we are in the CFP idc what anyone says.
IMO with the current offensive style we are seemingly steering towards I honestly rhink a defense similar to the one Diaz had in 2016-2018 here would REALLY set us up for success.
I’m not projecting anyone specific to make massive jumps but I do absolutely expect jumps from a lot of our freshman (who have all flashed at some point) simple due to more exposure to S&C as well as getting older and having a year under their belt.
Losing the way we did this year hopefully leaves a bad taste in their mouth. It’s clear the players fight for Mario and love him as a coach.
IF we can beat Iowa state I think it will ultimately set us up for success with momentum for 2025 Similar to how Beating WVU was for us in 2016.

As it stands our 2024 class seems like it’ll be our foundation class more so than 2022 or 2023. We have a lot of talented guys who have been flashing for 24’ and if they make the jump that freshman typically make in their sophomore year we are in good shape.I wouldn't discount Upshaw at wr but I see us adding a slot wr in portal. we can all come up with the list of suspects that would qualify:Any sleuths know
What an unhinged and nonsensical rant. Lay off the drugs
The progressive greedy left leaning always correct feelings over facts ncaa universities professors students HUMANS that stand for alphabet letters defund the police palestine blm student debt relief virus jabbing trash is the sole reason for the wild west lawlessness that plague's the great sport of college football. Corona virus by the one world order caused chaos and destruction. It turned America into a false smoke and mirrors fairyland that allows you to do or be anything you want.. You want to be a muskrat you can! You were born with a dck but want a vgina chop it off! You relate to a bald eagle well flyy high young king! You wanna transfer every year after banking and barely producing go ahead! You wanna make 2mil dollars as a 17 year old high school kid with zero proven play on the College fields SURE WHY NOT! ZERO COMMON SENSE
CFB Football players aren't being paid anything but a scholarship boarding (under the table bag payments) and an "Edumecation".. oh nooo boo hoooo every single one of them deserves MONEY... then lets start paying them with zero guidelines or rules just a wide open market.. PSHHHH Too bad i don't have a son born in this magical soft as charmin generation i would have worked him out at age 3 training to be signed by a college team to manipulate the **** out of them making 2 mil then transferring 3 different times chasing bags and sealing them walking away laughing not only at the ncaa but the nfl cuz fckem why would he go make pennies on the dollar or be a an unsigned free agent i already banked swindling the college teams for 3-4 years with zero ramifications. ITS TOO EASYYYY the agents are telling these kids and their family's.
I get it a bunch of old white dudes with their corporations and old money profited for decades and decades on the backs of young American men playing football so is this the long awaited due payback?? LMAO there comes a point where the profit going to a few old farts must be stopped and we are there but the corrupt liberal NCAA sitting on their hands for profit share is toast. Someone has to put a cap and it starts with roster size.
Just a giant fckin **** show. I'm stoked Cam chose us over the NFL (i know he transferred several times lol) the state of college football is diabolical and i am typically always on the positive side of things but this is a giant mess and ugly to follow or contribute to. Multimillionaires paying kids 7 figures coming out of high school is asinine and to be able to transfer as many times as you want makes the sport jaded and faded while i did enjoy the success Cam provided us from transferring its not sustainable in the big picture.
After a top 5 and top 10 class, he recruited a small class that was 13 but had a similar or higher avg than other larger, higher ranked classes. Yeah, far from worrisome. If we start regularly getting classes of that rank, yes, it would be concerning. This one, no.Our ace recruiter signed the #13 class and you think that’s good enough?
I think they might not be shocking to college football message board sickos like us, but to the average college football fan they’d be both big names and exciting. And compared to going into the season with Emory and the kiddos, either would excite me as well. With Mateer already off the board, I’m struggling to even think of 3 big-name QBs coming back that would be shocking/exciting. Ewers/Milroe both wouldn’t be shocking nor would they be exciting. Dart? Is he going pro?
