Wouldn’t be mad about this one if we don’t get Concepcion/Singleton. But I’m sure we’ll hold out for one of those, he’ll go to some mid-level ACC team, and light us up next season.

They’re not doing near as much in the portal as I thought or that needed to do.

If Hard Rock can be similar to ND 2017 type atmosphere, as it should be, I don’t see them walking in and beating us easily.

The portal seems to be something where you have to be able to do your evals and then act quickly and it’s something Mario doesn’t do.

Maybe I’m wrong but that’s the way it seems to me cause it seems every weekend we have all these top kids in and Mario doesn’t seem to be able to close on them at that time. Every kid says “ Miami is great and I love the place” but next thing you know he’s gone elsewhere.Throw whatever best shot you have to throw while the kid is on the “ visit high”.make him feel like he is getting an amount that won’t be matched and don’t let him leave.ABC…”always be closing”.

The portal is a place where you make your play and do it quickly before you have 5-6 teams you have to contend with instead of an initial 1-2 especially when the longer it goes the more money it’s going to cost cause every other team will figure out the money you’re throwing at a particular kid.

Maybe I’m wrong but it just seems to me that the teams doing the best in the portal are closing kids while they’re on campus….
