Look to the Transfer Portal: Discussion thread

Not saying Mendoza is anywhere near that level, but he's not a statue back there. Mateer is going to OU. Who would you want to bring in or are you riding with Emory?
The solution isn't a minor upgrade. If it's our only option I would love you to know why. We have 0 proof that taking shortcut at QB would help upgrade other positions. Newsflash they all need bodies. The reality is stark.

You’re not sure he beats Emory? Are you serious?
I am. I’m sure Mendoza will ask for and receive certain concessions for coming to Miami and that likely includes the starting job, so my comment is more from a hypothetical sense if they were in a true training camp battle with non-partisan staff evaluating.

Also, Emory does have the support of his team. Whoever comes in and takes the job needs to be a clear levels above Emory. Mendoza isn’t levels above so he’s gonna have to work extremely hard to win over the rest of the team. Are we sure he got that in his dna??

So nothing on the field related, just based of character traits and being in the building longer?

Sounds like Poffburger 2.0. Dmoney should be annoucing his 1st rd draft grade any minute.
I mean, nobody with two brain cells told you that Poff was anything other than an interesting prospect to come up a level after being highly productive at the lower level...no one said anything about first round, this is just a dumb strawman argument because you're in your feelings.

Those were two separate sentences broken up by the usage of a period. Poff was definitely not presented as a 3rd string QB. The Canes media propagandists all tried to sell him as a solid option B. Dmoney also uses 1st round grade to calm the folks that are waiting to be told what to think.
