Look to the Transfer Portal: Discussion thread

Here’s the question. He probably wants to be closer to home. Seems could be bidding to get him. How much an offer for Fernando?

Mendoza is going to be drafted into the NFL. He has size, enough athleticism, and decent arm.

He had one of the worst pass blocking OL's in ACC this season, still threw for over 3,000 yards.

My initial ACC QB's 2025 ranking:

1.) Cade Klubnik
2.) Haynes King
3.) Kevin Jennings
4.) Fernando Mendoza
5.) C.J. Bailey
6.) Thomas Castellanos
7.) Eli Holstein

Wild Card is Kyron Drones, don't know what he is doing yet.

Of the qbs in the portal, he probably has the most upside of them all, and has probably produced at the highest level of all them.

Lot of Justin Herbert similarity’s Imo.
If it's who we roll with I'm for it. I watched our game against them and the Auburn game. He has some improvements that's needed but he plays within the system so that wouldn't hurt us if our weapons are performing at a high level

Are you saying that because you have a preconceived notion, or you actually looked at size, numbers, and them playing?

Herbert took a massive leap year 2-3, especially a production stand point. That propelled him into that top qb conversation and cam back for a 4th year.

They had similar production first two years. Nearly the same size. Watch Herbert at Oregon and Mendoza this year. There’s similarities.

He obviously needs to take that next step in year 3

People really watched Cam carry our sorry asses to 10 wins and still think the safe game manager route is what we need. Will never understand it. Hope to god the staff doesn’t feel the same.

There's a bunch of QB's in the playoffs this year that didn't put up Cam numbers and more than 10 wins. I'd trade Cam for a playoff spot, but that's just me.

Justin Herbert had one of the best arms I’ve ever seen in college, and was more than just passively athletic. Please stop.

Did any of them play with our defense.

That's the point. How do you want the team constructed. Pay 2+ Million for a QB and slight the defensive improvements and be in dog fights all season long or have a team more prepared to play complementary football because you spread out your roster management improvements. There's not a Cam in this year's portal.
