The changes in the game is why I would say a great wr is more important than ever. They change games, i could just not target your great corner lol, he still has to play within the scheme.

I can move my wr anywhere ,outside, slot, backfield etc and just dictate what matchup i want to exploit.

For example are u taking the best corner in the league over tyreek hill or justin Jefferson? Are u taking the best corner in cfb over nabers or marvin harrison jr? If u are we just see impact differently
As a Vikings fan I’ve experienced top talent at WR pretty much my entire life. There’s almost nothing to show for having that talent.

Also, the Chiefs just won the SB after trading Hill. We also just saw on Sunday what happens when the rest of an offense crumbles around a talented WR when Philly beat Miami.

I do agree that an elite WR can take over a game. My broader point is more needs to work in the WRs favor than the DBs to maximize their impact.

This is going to sound like a total rationalization. But I saw Smith on national TV and was both amazed and disappointed. Amazed because he's an unstoppable freak. Disappointed because every time the ball went away from him, he stopped dead. He didn't bother blocking, didn't bother running a route. Just took a lazy step or two. Got me worried about him fitting with the attitude and culture Mario is trying to build, tbh.

You never turn down talent like Smith. Would love to have him. But like a lot of elite talent, he's got to be bought in. Meanwhile, the three guys we got committed are ballers in their own right. We're going to be stacked at WR next season.

Neither Harrison nor Nabers were elite 5* guys coming out of high school. They were both rated similarly to chance.

common sense. just like smith. dont do this to yourself.

I don't follow recruiting as closely as I used to. I have started to trust Mario and his staff to figure this stuff out. They've obviously been fooled more than usual this recruiting season so it looks bad, and maybe Robinson does bolt. But of the three, he's the one I'm least concerned about. I think we can find alternatives.

Question to the boards -- do any of our current WRs actually leave (on their own)? I figured Restrepo was gone when I thought TVD would leave early. But now I'm thinking odds are that TVD comes back. And if everyone wants to come back, how many WRs are we actually going carry on roster next season?

Of course we take Smith and Robinson. But if we don't get the former and the other is looking, I'm wondering if we keep shooting for the moon with guys like Wingo and otherwise shut it down with Trader and Carr, who replace Harrell and Ladson who graduate?

2024 Roster assuming no one transfers or graduates early: 11 WRs = Ray Ray, Redding, Robby, George, Brashard, Horton, Kirk, Restrepo, Young, Trader, Carr

There’s nothing to show because the entire team is bad outside of the offense and their not even elite lol. Yall would he bottom of the league if jettas wasn’t generational

Chiefs won because they are elite at the other 2 of the top 4 most important positions, QB and OL. They have mahomes so its an outlier just like when the pats had brady, its a system. Most top nfl teams have an elite wr not a elite corner

I just think flipping the #1 corner from the #1 program in the country, a team that’s won back-to-back Natty’s and very well might make the playoff for a shot at a third, is an extremely tall task.

People on this board think it’s something like 65-35, when in reality it’s probably 90-10 (he sticks with UGA). But, you just have to keep shooting your shot and winning on the field. No real shame in missing, but you have to throw the kitchen sink.

Oh, and that Includes absolutely overpaying whatever UGA has offered. He should have no financial cap. Personally, this should be the situation for most of the blue chips we’re pursuing/trying to flip. Money shouldn’t be an obstacle.

well i dont think addaie is out recruiting kirby for one of the best corners in the country thats already committed to uga.

Okay we got our signals crossed. I was talking about WRs so thinking about Chance Robinson. Now I realize you were talking about Ellis Robinson. I agree he'll be extremely hard to pull away from UGA, and even if he flips, we're not necessarily going to be the ones to land him.

w/r/t Chance, there were some rumors he was still listening, too. But is it fair to say he's still expected to be in the class?
