Levonte Whitfield

Kermit seen the way our offense was high powered this year and wants in. Put him in the slot and watch out

Totally agree......

I sure he had kept an eye on both teams during this season and saw Morris throw up HUGE numbers by way of air..... Kermit probably also witnessed Dorsett have a mid season "Mental" and thought to himself that he would of caught those 50 yard bombs......

I say let him in if that's what he wants........

At least this kid might of realized his mistake before NSD unlike Sticks, Bailey & others.......

"No way.. Roscoe is not as near as fast as this kid. Santana is a better comparison with the strides when he runs. Roscoe's game was more elusive and quickness. This kid has elite speed".Parrish ran mid-4.3s at the combine if I recall correctly, he was a top-tier Big East track guy.

No harm in bringing him on January 18. In fact, that weekend would be the best weekend based upon who else will be here including his future QB.

Doesn't matter what Roscoe's 40 time was at the combine. If you watched him play you know he was fast as ****.

I should add when I first started thinking "Roscoe" was seeing this kid as a soph and junior. He looks like he has added quite a bit of size.

People gotta chill with this Santana comparison. The embodiment of a great athlete and great football player. Plays bigger than Andre Johnson, who is 6 inches bigger than him and about 35-40 pounds heavier. Santana was Steve Smith before Steve Smith. Not only could he catch a hitch or slant and house it, but he combines awesome leaping ability with tremendous ball skills.

Santana Moss' are extremely rare

Is it possible to be too fast?

This kid might just be too fast.

Travis Benjamin was too fast for Jacory. I don't think you guys remember that Benjamin was open on darn near every play at Miami, it just looked like he was covered as he usually had to stop and wait, then fight for the punts Jacory threw up.

Benjamin is who Whitfield looks and plays like.
I'd take him and just tell him to run fly's and deep posts. At the very worst he takes a corner and a safety out of the defense and leaves everyone else with single coverage.

Santana also ran really smooth routes. Kermit is a little sloppy in his breaks. Either way, good looking player and I would take him over Strong but not Coley

s. moss was not a great wr when he got to UM. was a track kid playing fb. had the dropsies early on, a couple in crucial situations.

Drops are truly overstated. Terrell Owens and Jerry Rice are two of the best of all time and they both had the dropsies throughout their careers. Santana was always a football player, who happened to be a great athlete.

Zev Lumelski would outrun Jacory's arm.

here we go. he had very few, if any scholarship offers out of hs, came to UM on a track ship, which was quickly converted to fb in a week or 2 of his arrival.
he played on run oriented hs team. he didn't arrive at UM a great or even good wr. he came here w/ speed and potential and became a great wr.
if you want to disagree just to disagree, go ahead. i'm sure u will get plenty of guys to agree w/ you just b/c they want to.
the guys who know fb and UM and were around then will probably disagree with you, but, go on.

The statements I highlighted are accurate to the best of my recollection. The other statements might be correct, I don't know because i wasn't hip to those details back then.
