You guys are in denial. You completely ignore opportunity cost.

It's not that Simpson is a BAD recruiter, it's that he's not a GREAT one and loses 1v1 battles.

Look at Dugans. Look at how much more valuable he is as a GREAT recruiter over keeping a not bad, but average recruiter, in Kevin Beard.

It's night & day. I guarantee you there's a better recruiter out there that we could have hired other than Simpson and I bet that recruiter could have won against Bama.
Jess doesnt look good right now

New York kids are tough so he will have that dog in him. I’ll take a look at Holley’s tape, I’m sure Simpson will do a solid job with him.
yeah he is from east ny. i mean i didnt think thomas carroll would kill it here in early 2000s and he was a 3 year starter.
like i said, some around the program think he can be very good, not a project.

Right, and he plays Tight End and RB too correct? That’s an athlete right there.

how he just got here? he hasnt had time to build relationships. its not bama where you are selling saban
He has a job to do and its two parts....this kid was a silent forever and its a loss whoever was recruiting him. Im done with putting excuses for coaches to feel better about the team.

How any of you could make an excuse for this blows my mind.

This kid gonna wear UM slippers to his announcement and y'all gonna make excuses. He lives down the **** road. Ffs.

Got his momma her rent paid for the next four years...nice birthday present.

i legitimately can’t believe ninjas be going from Miami to the state of Alabama. That **** is mind blowing . Seriously mother****ig Alabama.

Now you see the effects of losing and it's going to get worse. Richt has butchered this program since the Pitt game last year.

I think Alabama is the IT school and attracts front runners. Unfortunately, a lot of the best 18 year olds are front runners.

It's also part of the reason why most of Alabama's studs flame out in the pros - they haven't tasted adversity. They don't have that dog in them and don't know how to react when the chips are down.

He's a Dillard kid that front ran and transferred to STA. Its the same thing in recruiting..kids gonna go to WINNERS.

He comes if Miami beats UVA by 20? Don’t think so. If Bama drops a game, is he going to decommit? Heck, why aren’t big time kids jumping on UCFs class? Longest winning streak.

It is winning, coaches, nfl, bags, roster, early PT, brand awareness, conference brand awareness...

This is such a dumb statement.

When we were on top and winning ships, we cherry picked guys from all across rhe country. When they put on that uniform, there wasn't one fan here that labeled them a mercenary.

By your definition, they would've been mercenaries as they didn't sign with the local team.

You want to be the best, you've gotta best the best. That is Bama right now and in head to head recruiting martchups, we're fighting an uphill battle. The coaches and players have to narrow that gap and when it looks like we're getting close, you have a better shot at these types of recruits.
Not true. We always had to fight for recruits.

Its definitly a coaching/recruiting issue. How many hometown kids leave LSU or USC or Texas even when they are bad? Even though we are losing guys to Bama, can someone explain why it continues to be 11th hour stuff? Ridley, Surtain,Jobe, Ingraham, Harris, and that is just at the top of my head. This staff needs to do better on all fronts in the best recruiting ground in the country. Its like living in Mexico and not being able to find enough workers who speak Spanish.
or Miami
