Kevin Beard

How many of those WR's were recruited by Beard?

Restrepo & JGeorge were Rob Likens evals/signings, even Horton was a Likens recruit.

Beard has signed the 24 & 25 class, which most of whom are still at least 1-2 years away from being ready to play.

Now put that in contrast to all the TF/Red FR & Sophomore WR's around the country who are already playing at a high level & you have your answer.

Beard has done well by Miami fan standards, which are always going to be bare minimum & the fact he's a former Cane completely skews people's ability to accurately access the job he's actually done. But in reality, he missed top targets in both his classes back to back & the HC feels like he’s not doing his job up to Championship standards. Hence why he's letting him walk.

One thing that should always be kept in mind, just being "good enough", isn't actually the goal. The goal is GREATNESS. That's how you win Championships.
What you think about the list I made and the idea of a WR coach who can step in as OC next year presuming Dawson leaves? Galloway would probably be an obvious hire given his connection with Dawson and that we were discussing him before we re-hired Beard even...

I like the idea of Chad Morris given he's currently WR and PGC at like Texas St, but idk if he's kinda still with the times, but pretty sure he has a good tree....

Beard isn’t irreplaceable. Nobody on our staff is. He’s been here two seasons and has not only recruited his position as good or better than any other position coach we have he’s actually improved the players he coached. Everyone said we desperately needed a portal wide receiver last year so we got one and he was not only worse than our veterans but he got passed by a younger guy who Beard developed.

Love this prospect. Texas ties! YES!

Didn't realize he'd been there that long. Has produced guys, for sure. When we were searching for portal QB's, I reviewed Josh Hoover. I came away more impressed with the TCU WR's than Hoover.

The receivers were very, very good last season.

It was abundantly clear they were very well coached. Polished, patient, technical, excellent hands and body control. Is some of that natural talent? Sure. But we've had plenty of kids with natural talent at that position who couldn't play a lick once the lights came on.

Can we do better? I don't know. I'm sure we can, but that's not the question. The question is WILL we do better?

At the end of the day, I think of Beard a lot like I thought of Mike Rumph. A better teacher than he is a communicator and recruiter. And, I think we know what Mario prioritizes.

I think it's a loss, unless we get someone who is an equivalent teacher and better recruiter. Those guys certainly exist. Will we get one?

But I was very impressed with the play of the receivers this year.

Right.

Now explain why we're still brining in Portal WR's & desperate to find more for the Spring?

We had one of the best passing Offenses in America because we had the best QB in America, paired with a very good OC.

So if we had that QB still then this current WR core would be just fine and we'd have nothing to ***** about Beard with?

Carson Beck will do some tampering, this is his money year for the draft and last thing he wants to be doing is throwing to a bunch of inexperienced WRs that don’t run the right routes

Cam Ward was throwing to 4th and 5th year seniors

Yeah, but he caught that pass in the back of the end zone against FSU
