Hate to say I told you guys so but…

I know Tampa. I know Tampa people. I know based on high schools whose in it for the $$$ and who’s looking long term…if we do end up winning this battle, it isn’t because he loves Miami, it’s because we upped the green.

Also, if he doesnt get treated like royalty at whatever school he chooses($$$), he’s a 100% transfer. Mark it
Two schools I’ve specifically seen the gator board rip are Armwood and Lakeland. That said, I don’t know anything about this recruit or any other recruit’s makeup so there’s that too.

Ironically we can win Texas battles. Lagway, Hill, Hicks, Evans and Miller should be Canes... we only had to break the bank for 1.
It's just like my guy McNutt. I told everyone even though he was a legacy there was zero chance he goes back o OSU but the coaches thought because he went to Shaker heights it was a foregone conclusion... they didn't end up in his top 5.

I don’t think any fan base should do it. These are young kids
There’s no reason for people to be ******** to the parents of recruits because they think it’s their right. It’s not their right to just be pricks. It’s just stupid and a bad look on us.

That said, while I appreciate the parents coming on here and providing insight into the recruiting process, Maude’s cringe when parents of players are on the board. I mean it’s a fan board and fans are going to critique players. Those critiques may be fair and honest and the families of players usually don’t like it. I’ve seen it happen repeatedly on here, and I know who some of the parents are who have experienced it.

But frankly, as long as it’s not personal insult stuff because I’m not excusing insult-ridden miserable asswipes, but tough **** if they don’t like the criticism. They shouldn’t come on here then because that’s what happens on a sports message board. Fans discuss the pros and cons. We want that type of discussion on here, in the context im talking about. That’s why we’re here. And as a Maude, the other shoe always drops. It’s just a matter of time.

Dude, you were in with guys who could have really helped us and I never understood what our staff was doing in those instances, I’m talking McNutt and Drelon Miller for starters.

Agree both sides need to reevaluate if the market clearing price has changed dramatically. You may be right Miami decided to hold firm or not chase the commitment. They did that with Rashada, with Colbie when he demanded more, etc. And unlike some CISers on here, I the Miami recruiting operation to get it right most of the times in these circumstances. Of course, this is all speculation. We're not in the room where it happens.
Well hopefully it just isn't only about Money and we win out due to our pitch and him believing this is the best school for him and program for him to be developed AND win. But yeah, I think we are definitely willing to up the bag and likely did for him and other players. Ideally if you are in the ballpark the decision doesn't come down to purely who has the highest bid. However there is a certain amount - and this goes for everyone, except maybe elite QBs - where it just doesn't make sense to continue matching NIL. I won't blame a player for taking the top $ offer (we have no idea what % of decision that is or their financial needs), nor would I blame our staff for not matching $ figures on all players.

to me People seem to not want to accept that we are almost certainly not a top 5 spender in total/average, AND Any school can pretty much go all out spending on one/handful of specific players if they choose which means for any given player there could be 15 schools that have deeper pockets than us... Yet we have finished like 7th and 4th last 2 years. Mario outperforms our actual resources when it comes to recruiting imo. Easy to take shots and there are always guys we probably SHOULD HAVE gone after that were passed up, but the results have been great so far.

yikes. really think the staff misplayed the timeline by canceling OVs last weekend. no home game this weekend and signing day is Wednesday.

Completely disagree.

The season and winning is much more important right now than a couple official visits.

This team has To beat Syracuse and get to the ACC championship game.

All focus should be on the season and preparing to win.

I have zero issues with them pushing recruiting to the bottom…which I can guarantee Mario is still recruiting.
