Some of you are legit praying he goes elsewhere so you can complain and blame Mario.
You guys have no idea that some parents have actually viewed the board and not said anything and think this place is toxic.
If a parent ever sways their kid away from a school because of a message board, then they were never serious about said school.

When Pops came in here and didn’t say “my son is committing to Miami”, I just knew we were out
Why would be on our message board if we didn’t have a good chance ? Ruin a once in life time decision for his kid regardless who picks . Stay off the paint chips

Ego. They want to see whats being said by the fans on the board. They love reading about their kid being deservedly propped up

Parents are human too. Steed's father or uncle, can't remember, was really upset at how posters on here were treating him. Both Shaq's and Roberts' parents had to quit the boards because of the negativity.

Maybe posters shouldn't put the responsibility entirely on the parent, but take some responsibility to be respectful to 17-23 year old young men and their community? The Golden Rule is thousands of years old. Worth following it.

Ego makes it sound selfish. How about "pride" instead? No doubt some like the Wilsons' father are arrogant. But most are just so proud of their kids.

... Reminds me of another parent. Willie Moise's father. Moise was a DT recruit for us that ended up and a OL starter for Coastal Carolina. Everyone was super friendly to him on here though. We all wished his kid well.

Hate to say I told you guys so but…

I know Tampa. I know Tampa people. I know based on high schools whose in it for the $$$ and who’s looking long term…if we do end up winning this battle, it isn’t because he loves Miami, it’s because we upped the green.

Also, if he doesnt get treated like royalty at whatever school he chooses($$$), he’s a 100% transfer. Mark it
In 2024, it’s all about $. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. P(l)ay the game or get left behind.

Imo, Miami discovered Wiley and prioritized him. Now, he blows up and the $ game changed. I hope Mario can close this deal or he will be in Texas. Put your money where your mouth is and get the kid you always wanted. If not, he can enjoy the Texas sidelines next year.

They haven’t hid it tho. It’s been very clear from his posts how much a factor that was

To be fair all 3 of those guys were far from perfect. If you are on these boards expecting everyone to ride your kid’s ****, then that foolishness is on you. You put your work out there for people to see, you have to know that not everyone is going to like it…

Hopefully he comes, I think the kid is a beast but at this point Mario hasn't given us a reason to not trust him so let him cook

Have we proven we're afraid to pay a recruit's NIL value if we believe he's worth it? Now, the second part about the kid's reasons and character, that certainly has to go into the equation of what we think the kid's intrinsic NIL value is. We don't need another TVD/Bama saga, and we want players who buy into the culture and team, not an FSU or Texas A&M situation.
If it’s truly just about NIL between Us and Texas, we would be extremely dumb to try to match their offer for a freshman Lb.

Lb is probably 1st or 2nd least valuable position on defense as far as how we should be spending money. We are also looking like we are flipping the kid from Ohio St, and have 2 others committed.

When he was a 3star and under rated and not getting a school like Texas involved in pay, yeah we should be willing to spend and maybe be the highest bidder (in a smaller pond). But that no longer appears to be the case

Agree both sides need to reevaluate if the market clearing price has changed dramatically. You may be right Miami decided to hold firm or not chase the commitment. They did that with Rashada, with Colbie when he demanded more, etc. And unlike some CISers on here, I the Miami recruiting operation to get it right most of the times in these circumstances. Of course, this is all speculation. We're not in the room where it happens.

When UT wants a Florida kid they're going to get them. The money that Baxter and Gibson got... you can't blame Mario when we lose a recruit to UT. This is the one school we will continue to lose head to head battles with. That being said I know nothing about Wiley's recruitment..
law and order crazy shit GIF

Do they also read other team’s boards? Because all CFB message boards are toxic
