JSmith blank check

So for the people kicking around numbers

Do we think OSU is just gonna let him walk away to Miami because of money? I’d have to check but I’m pretty sure they like to invest in their football program but idk
No I think he'd have to favor/weigh a few things that Ohio State can't match currently.

Playing at home in front of all his family
Chance to bring a NC back to his hometown team
U Legacy/brotherhood
Playing with a veteran/proven QB vs an unknown in Sayin (who could end up being really good)

Who knows what those things are worth to him. Obviously if it's an ONLY money decision, OSU can match (and probably surpass) anybody.

Yeah I get that

Only thing is he already told us “no” once despite having a lot of the same factors in place. I don’t think he went to OSU because he thought Will Howard was a factor

He went to OSU because they’re just a superior program in every possible way than Miami

Maybe he is bored of being a god there in a town that literally doesn’t give a **** about anything other than football? These days I suppose nothing should surprise anyone

Either way that kid is about to be rich rich and we might be a pawn in that game or maybe something purely insane happens

We also didn't have a QB when he signed with OSU last year.

I know I guess it depends on what you believe when it comes to why he chose OSU

all I can really say from the OSU side is they weren’t being aggressive with NIL until they lost to Michigan again last year

They had a come to Jesus moment with money and you saw them essentially buy a 300 point recruiting class in January last year

If people think he chose OSU because we didn’t have Cam yet, I can’t prove they’re wrong, I just don’t personally think that’s what happened

This was from the Ohio State 247 mod this morning, very interesting....

** I’m just Sayin … So now we turn the page to the Julian Sayin era … or do we? One of our best Ohio State football sources had some thoughts on where things stand at the quarterback position as this condensed off-season begins.

“I think we are going to find out very quickly what Ryan Day and Chip Kelly truly think about Julian Sayin,” our guy said. “Their actions – and those of Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate – will speak volumes. Do the coaches go out this spring and actively seek a veteran like a Will Howard to come in and compete with Sayin for the job? Do Smith and/or Tate at least have their representatives put some feelers out there to see what they could get at a place that has a prolific and proven passer returning? We’ve all heard the Tate noise, right?
