Josh Gattis (before its deleted)

Yet it is December 10, 2022, the World Cup knockout is nearly done, and Josh ***king Gattis is still Miami’s OC. Oh, did I mention that our QBs are looking for new teams and Mario’s “bump” recruiting class is starting to crack? Al Golden 2.0.
I can appreciate and empathize with your anxiety. Anybody who says they are calm, cool and collective at this point is probably lying.

We all want this to be done yesterday for all of the reasons stated on this Board. Not sure anybody disagrees with that point. Nobody knows why it hasn’t happened, which leads us to infer that it might not happen. That‘s what’s driving some folks mad (understandably). Since nobody can prove that it will happen, we are stuck reading conspiracy theories and possible outcomes.

Not easy.

The flaw in your logic might be assuming that Mario cares what the fanbase thinks, or that he even believes Gattis did a bad job. He’s been pretty consistent in blaming players and expressing his desire to flip the roster. I’m also not sure if Rad wants to dictate to Mario who to fire and hire one year into his tenure, especially since he didn’t actually hire Mario. If anything, he doesn’t want to **** off the people with the money who were instrumental in getting Mario to Miami.
I’m giving very little weight to what Mario thinks. The rationale for my argument is based primarily on what Rad, Joe Echevarría and Rudy Fernandez thinks. Mario is judged on wins and losses. Joe and Rudy are held to a higher standard.

Dan reports to Joe, not Julio. That is an important distinction. A business leader evaluates his performance, not an academic.

If you all thought this season was bad, just wait until next season. Unless there are major changes, we are looking at a 2-4 win season. May God have mercy on our souls.

Let alone losing your QB and WR room now and for the foreseeable future..which QB or WR, on the roster or in the future, wants to play for Gattis?

Mario already is fighting against his reputation of "ruining QBs". His partnership with Gattis will only bolster that rhetoric on the recruiting trail.

I don't have any inside information but I'm 100% confident Gattis won't be here next year because he can't be. Mario cares too much about recruiting to have a deadbeat OC making him recruit with 2 hands tied behind his back. He needs to hire an OC/QB coach that will allow him to say "This is my offensive philosophy. This OC/QB coach has proven success for QBs and WRs in high scoring offenses."
In terms of reading “tea leaves” what TVD does in the coming weeks will be telling. That is probably the best clue on what’s going on.

everyone on the outside saw the coaching failure, ineptitude.
everyone on the outside saw the quitting of the team in part because of the coaching failure
everyone on the outside saw the dysfunction that Gattis creates

and we saw ONLY the tip of the iceberg, while Mario, Zo, Ed Reed, Charlie Strong, Steele, Jason Taylor, Rad and many others saw the rest of the iceberg every day. and therefore in conclusion there is no way Gattis can come back.

if he does, we'd have to find a new word that is worse than toxic!
How about "Nuclear Armageddon" for starters!

I do not know if Gattis is done, but instead am relying on others. I refuse to believe Gattis will be retained in any capacity. Not because of any source or what is reported on CIS; because if Gattis stays, Mario loses a majority of the fan base. It’s self destructive to keep Gattis. It’s a bad business decision. Those that are overseeing the Program (Rad, etc.) are all accomplished business leaders. I cannot imagine them sitting back and letting Mario run this back. It‘s program damaging and negatively impacts revenue.

^ the above. There is no universe where a guy like Mario Cristobal and a guy like Dan Radakovich don't replace Josh Gattis. They want to recruit playmakers, win games and have fans strongly behind the program. Gattis reduces the likelihood of meeting those objectives, so he's gotta go.

Worst offensive coordinator Ive ever seen in my life. There is simply nothing positive to say about his work this season. He never demonstrated any level of competency this season. Moreover, he showed a complete lack of understanding of how to structure a drive, how to call consecutive plays that build off the previous one, etc...

What I find the most disturbing about his performance this season is how he totally misused the Quarterbacks, specifically Jake Garcia. What Gattis did to Jake Garcia this season was criminal IMO. What we saw tonight was yet another example. Garcia was QB3 all week, which meant that he likely did not get any reps with the first team offense this week. Gattis went to Brown when TVD went down then put Garcia in with the ball on the one yard line. Unreal. Then Garcia comes out looking good in the 3rd quarter, completes three straight passes, gets two first downs and Gattis proceeds to pull him and put Brown in so he could hand it off. That's incompetence.

The ONLY reason Garcia looked so good in the 4th quarter is because Brown was injured. If Brown was available, Gattis would have pulled Garcia at least two more times and inserted Brown for whatever foolish reasons that swirl around in Gattis's low IQ head. Without the fear of being pulled for completing too many consecutive passes, Garcia was free to flourish, which he did. And yes, I never denied being the Conductor of the Jake Garcia hype train this season.

Not only did he hurt Garcia's development, he likely hurt Brown's as well. We know **** well that he hurt TVD's marketability. Josh Gattis destroyed an elite QB room within four months of being hired. That's incompetence.

Every hour that Gattis remains employed by UM is an hour that Mario is failing at his job. The clock is ticking.
All I've heard all year was Gattis needs more talent. That's complete bull****. If you need 8 5* players to score points, that means YOU SUCK. It was obvious from the very first game Gattis was clueless calling plays. The entire team couldn't stand him, which is another problem all together. People say he's a good recruiter but I would push back on that. Offensive coordinators #1 recruiting tool is "look how good my offense is. Look at my players developing, scoring points. Look how good of a play caller I am". He can't say ANY OF THAT. He was worse than Enos, with a future 1st or 2cd round pick at QB. Rashida de-committed because of how putrid the offense was. And it got progressively WORSE! Cristobal must swallow his pride and **** can Gattis shortly after early signing period is over. If he doesn't, Tyler SHOULD transfer and next years offense is gonna be another **** show. We can absolutely get a competent OC this off-season. Cristobals next 2 years depends on it

The joy of our little old website here is that we have a handful of posters who get to peek behind the curtain from time to time. Each of them have told us (in their own way) that Gattis would be gone after the season. I fully expect Gattis to be terminated before early signing day. That said, Im of the opinion that Gattis should have been terminated mid-season.
Don't you think Mario should wait till early signing day is over. Usually the instability of firing an OC after year 1 would send a bad message to recruits and portal transfers, especially cuz its gonna take a little bit to make a new hire. I will admit however that the offense was so freaking bad that firing him might actually help. I would probably time early signing period is over though

I’ve said several times that the fact of the matter is no one besides those directly involved know WTF is going on. I think we can take some solace in knowing Rad and Zo are in the building.

We’ve run the gamut of excuses as to why Gatass seems to still be employed. I’m done trying to speculate as to why and resided myself to just letting things play out. What other choice do I, or anyone else, have at this point.

Yet he’s still here and out recruiting.

Lmao recruits aren’t dumb. They see and hear all the **** we see and hear. They watched our offense. You think in any skill talent wants to come to play for this offense? Getting rid of the oc would help you more than hurt
