Larry Blustein is senile

Said the next OC that Mario finds will have to adopt and adjust to the Gattis system already in place

Gtfo….. why he is respected is beyond me
A week ago he said that the reason Gattis was still employed is because we would have lost some WR recruits if he were gone. LOL.

And if they said it "5 minutes after Arroyo left", that would be one thing. But that was clearly written recently, based on the "UNLV" taunt at the end.

It's easy to look like Nostradamus three years later.

Same as the "Oregon was clearly holding back Justin Herbert because he has been awesome for three years in the NFL" is.

Again, Arroyo's offenses scored points. At a high rate, compared to the rest of the NCAA. Does that mean Arroyo deserves a bronze statue? No, but I'm still not seeing why Arroyo is some kind of disaster hire, regardless of whether stats nerds think that Justin Herbert should have thrown the ball more as a senior.

Three years from now, I'd rather have an OC who moves on to take a head-coaching job after 3 years of Top 25 scoring offenses, as opposed to an OC who requires legal action to remove him from the premises after 11 horrible months.
He is as bad if not worse than gattis.

Stop arguing just to argue.

ARROYO BLOWS DONKEY ****S!!!!

You didn’t specify which nerd stat you wanted to use, but the point still stands. Oregon had more pass attempts per game than tOSU and OU. So were Ryan Day and Lincoln Riley ruining their QBs as well?
I guess you could say they both coach what are called elite or “explosive” offenses (both top 4 in yards per game), which is why both fields and hurts’ stat lines are more impressive than Herbert’s despite fewer attempts. Also they were both in their first year at those schools and offenses while Herbert was in his 3rd.

Plus hurts had like 1300 yds rushing while fields had almost 500, so I’d say they utilized them pretty well

So Thanks for comparing arroyo to two of the best offensive coaches in cfb. I needed some comic relief today

this board is a bunch of sheep. if 1 guy says Arroyo sucks then everybody runs with it. herd mentality here. If we can't get Lincoln Riley to come here Mario will be a failure according to everybody on here.

Arroyo is an OK coordinator. He's proven he's not completely inept. We could probably be pretty good on offense if we continue to recruit the way that we are for ALL positions.

But lesbianist....Miami is rich. When you're rich, you don't hire Marcus Arroyo for $2M a season. 10 years ago, Arroyo is a great hire, but not today.

No its not one guy. Its every oregon writer. Its every oregon fan. The information is out there on the INTERNETS. Its even free. Maybe look around.

Arroyo is dumpster juice on a late july day.

I'm not advocating for Arroyo. It's likely we could do a lot better given the budget we have for OC.

BUT....for all the Arroyo bashers on this board who suggest he'd be an abject failure, let me just drop these respective PPGs here for his 3 years at Oregon compared to Mullen (who now seems somehow universally slurped around here), Ruggiero (who I'd be happy with and for whom there were whispers / rumors), and Miami's:

MullenRuggieroMiamiArroyo
20173235.329.136
20183532.828.834.8
201933.231.825.735.4

Dare I say, over the last 20 years of Miami football, Lashlee would have been the only OC who would have been better than Arroyo.

Again - I'm not arguing that he's the best OC out there. But this bashing is totally without cause. We could do (and have done) a WHOLE LOT worse around here these last two decades....

That’s not so far fetched to me. Whoever the OC is will come pretty late it seems. The system Gattis ran is nothing unique. Michigan still runs it, Georgia, etc.

If kids are already getting used to it why change it completely and have them relearn yet another system? I think this is the system Mario is married to and recruiting to.

We need someone that can competently coach it, implement it, and call a decent game from it.

No one is coming in installing an air raid.

No but Joe Brady would inject some unique passing concepts for 3rd down and red zone situations ... you will see when he arrives as soon as Gattis departs.

Let me get this straight. You are comparing arroyo to a guy that coached against sec defenses, a coach at wake forest with 2 and 3 star players, and miami who has sucked for 20 years?

You realize arroyo had Herbert and played in a conference where utah was the best competition and a conference that plays absolutely no defense.

Come on man.

I thinks it’s obvious we have natural light taste while having scotch money, and we like to pay extra for our beer…

So Miami has 40-days to make a decision on Gattis.

First day of Spring is 03/04.
not sure if this is better or worse, but seems like the decision has already been made and they have 40 days to execute it...

This is what you do. You go find what some other school's writer said, and then act like it's a proven fact.

UNLV has been one of the worst Division I programs for decades. Since joining the Big West in 1988, UNLV has had EXACTLY THREE winning seasons:

1994: 7-5
2000: 8-5 (coached by John Robinson)
2013: 7-6

And Arroyo got them close to a winning record (5-7) in his third season. I'm not saying Arroyo is the best coach ever, but if UNLV had its 5th highest wins total in 35 years in Arroyo's 3rd year, maybe he was actually doing something right.

So, yeah, I could care less what some Oregon writer has to say.
Many CIS’ers take writers and reporters words as gospel when in fact, most writers and reporters don’t know their asses from holes in the ground.

We’ve entered into the “Arroyo wouldn’t be that bad” phase of Mario’s tenure LOL
We got at least 6 to 7 more years of this **** mane. Mother**** my life!

Arroyo loves the pistol offense. Dude is a ******* caveman.

As bad as diaz was he at least understood miami needed to get with the times on offense.
