How long did it take for Baker to “take another job” again?

When I see other teams firing their terrible OC

It’s been a week and Gattass is still OC.

Jimbo fired his OC like 2 minutes after A&M beat LSU last week.

Gattass is to Mario as Dorito was to Golden… tragic.
He isn't gonna get fired dude it's gonna be if anything he gets another job somewhere else! trying to save his name getting dragged thru the mud getting fired "bad on the resume"

Exactly and that’s the problem. It’s pathetic and people act like fired people never get hired anywhere again. If you’re a truly good coach, you’ll still be successful and get another chance even if you’re fired. Hes trying to help a coach who took us into the gutter and should have been replaced mid season

It’s been said that Mario idolizes Saban. Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t remember a very public firing recently from ol Nick either. He didn’t even fire Lane who you could clearly see he detested. Seems like Mario is following that model.

For what reason would saban fire anyone? His program is basically plug and play. Who has failed at Alabama? He wasn’t buddies with lane but there wasn’t a performance reason to fire lane, he was obviously very good there. he relieved him of his duties before the Nc game though when he got the fau job and let sark call plays

Is this the new defense of Mario line? He doesn't want to fire the guy, just sitting there crossing his fingers someone takes him off his hands? Firing is bad.

Any person with a rudimentary understanding of the game knows he deserves to be fired by watching our games.

What not firing him does is make Mario look like a clown. It says he's okay with what transpired on the field. Gattis can claim he wasn't given full autonomy to do his thing.

Never understood that.

Dorito brought Golden down hard.

Richt's son brought him down. Same with Bobby Bowden's son - destroyed everything Bobby built up.

Loyalty is a virtue.

But Stubborn Stupidity is not.

This.

Basically all of Saban’s OC’s were hired away for promotions.

Mario won’t have that problem with Gattass.

Our coaching staff is a waste as well, Mario needs UGA‘s roster and 10 timeouts per half just to beat the likes of Duke. We need a Buddy Ryan type DC and his OC equivalent just to make to overcome the Mario Corchin’ experience
You sound hurt. Find a friend and hug them

You guys do realize that if Gattis gets hired by Iowa or anyone else, that means that school has to buy out his contract. Relax.

This 1000%. Outside of recruiting Mario failed every conceivable expectation. The team's performance on the field took a significant step back and that falls 100% on Mario. Furthermore instead of addressing the biggest problem with this team (the offense) he's prioritizing recruiting. This is consistent with his in season comments that the roster is the problem. I hope I'm wrong and that Mario will make the appropriate coaching changes needed... But I fear that he feels that this is on the players and not on the coaches.

If that's the case we're in for a loooong and dreadful tenure the likes of Golden.
With all the comments of the roster being the problem from him, why aren’t we at more than 12 transfers at this time? TVD and Jake Garcia back, he had to have pushed really hard to get them both to come back. A lot of what Mario says doesn’t match up.

In todays college football it’s not so tough to almost completely turn over a roster in 2 off seasons at this rate he will have turned over only 60-70% of that roster and still be using this rebuild takes time as an excuse with Ponce and Gattis still on staff next year.

How did Jimbo fire his OC, when Jimbo is the OC? lol.

Y’all got to chill and have patience. We have gotten the word by CIS insiders that there is going to be change with the staff. It will happen when it happens.

It should have happened already, the new OC should be here evaluating his offensive staff and he should be making the changes he wants on the offensive staff. The longer this gets dragged out the less options a new OC has to make changes to his offensive staff. If Mario drags out a new OC hire or doesn’t allow his new OC to make staff changes on the offensive side of the ball, it’s not much different than just keeping Gattis on staff.
