While I have no doubt neither Mario nor Gattis expected what happened to transpire and that the team would have 'fared better' with less injuries, it wasn't like the O was lighting the world on fire prior to TVD being injured. Yes, there was a game and a half where TVD put up crazy passing numbers, but the running game was non-existent and there was no rhythm. In a game where TVD threw for just shy of 500 yards, we only scored 24 points which was the 2nd most points we scored against a P5 team. When he accepted the job, I'm sure he had no idea (nor did anyone) the internal corruption+the injuries we would get smacked with this year. If our OL was in better shape and our starting QB had not gotten injured half way through, would he have fared better? Of course. There were drives and times when I tipped my cap and thought he was finally getting in synch with his players.
Our coaching staff is a waste as well, Mario needs UGA‘s roster and 10 timeouts per half just to beat the likes of Duke. We need a Buddy Ryan type DC and his OC equivalent just to make to overcome the Mario Corchin’ experienceNext year is a waste regardless. Have you seen this roster?
It does matter. I understand Mario is a master recruiter, but it puts us at a disadvantage trying to close on these recruits. This is getting dragged out way too long with early signing day coming up. How he didnt have his guy in place weeks ago is mind boggling.Interesting approach. But as long as he’s gone then it doesn’t really matter for us fans. Seems like Mario is trying to do him a solid.
What an in depth observation. We now have the answer. So Gattis told the QBs to stare down the primary receiver? What exactly were Gattis' instructions? What did Ponce teach that Gattis went back and overruled? All you are doing is speculating. Both failed at what they were hired to do, both need to go.
Besides recruiting, everything hes done has been a failure since hes been here. So I wouldnt hold my breathIs Mario going to do something like announce the coaches leaving during the ACC game tonight so they talk about it during the game? Maybe? Please?
Obviously you have no answers because you ignored every question. Keep making up **** in your head to fit your narrative buddy, but do us all a favor and keep it to yourself. What an in depth observation. We now have the answer.
So he hasn’t expanded our analyst system, redone facilities, expanded the support staff, oh, and recruiting is the lifeblood of any program. He made some bad hires and went about it in a weird way. It happens and now he is hopefully hitting the reset.Besides recruiting, everything hes done has been a failure since hes been here. So I wouldnt hold my breath
Gattis can go to Colorado with Prime
"Made some bad hires" is an understatement if Ive ever seen one. We completely ruined one of the best Qbs in the country with his hire. Cant rely on recruiting alone. Poorly coached team is going to always find a way to loose. Hows texas A&M lifeblood doing? Took too long to make the hire last year, and is doing the same this year. Analyst system? Support staff? Beat ******* middle Tennessee. Monster recruiter. Absolutely I will give him that. Doesnt take away from the fact that hes been extremely underwhelming in other areas. So he hasn’t expanded our analyst system, redone facilities, expanded the support staff, oh, and recruiting is the lifeblood of any program. You are correct. He has been told to find another job ASAP.
I’m guessing the people who really matter, such as the recruits you mention, know what’s really going on.It does matter. Can’t argue with any of that. It’s more frustrating seeing what USC, LSU, and TCU have done, but let’s see where we are in a year or two. Hopefully better off than where we are today."Made some bad hires" is an understatement if Ive ever seen one. We completely ruined one of the best Qbs in the country with his hire. Round head, little cheesy mustache, If he's in a line up, I'm picking himGattis was tagged but he is NOT in the picture
This 1000%. Outside of recruiting Mario failed every conceivable expectation. The team's performance on the field took a significant step back and that falls 100% on Mario. Furthermore instead of addressing the biggest problem with this team (the offense) he's prioritizing recruiting. This is consistent with his in season comments that the roster is the problem. I hope I'm wrong and that Mario will make the appropriate coaching changes needed... But I fear that he feels that this is on the players and not on the coaches."Made some bad hires" is an understatement if Ive ever seen one.
