I completely agree on focusing on both lines. Thats absolutely where mario should be concentrating. All great teams have big time lines.

We all know he can recruit and nil has helped us but Miami turns on coaches quick. He has to start winning or recruiting will slip some.
Agree! His recruiting is only sustainable if the wins come and the offense is decent. He won at Oregon. He got recruits.

If he wins here, he will have the pick of the litter but he has to get the offense right. A great defense will held that Offense look even better but even with Gattis or that style of offense, there is only so much a defense can do.

Off the top of your head, when do you think (calendar date) Mario hired Gattis for Year 1?
Not sure how that's relevant...hiring someone and firing someone are two completely different things.

You can justify slow hiring as being thorough and thoughtful.

Taking months after the season to relieve someone of duty has no justification after the early signing period.

I think he's already got his next OC on the staff- Ponce. It is not a secret that Mario planned / expected for Gattis to be successful and get a HC offer in the next 2-3 years. It only took Lashlee two years. The plan was to replace Gattis with Ponce, and there would be minimal fan outcry because continuity is good. Circumstances are different, but the overall plan is still the same.
Well then that’s just ******* pathetic. Ponce is an OC that any Cane coach since Coker could have hired. **** Ponce. If true my expectations of the MC era has definitely been lowered.

How many P5 coordinators have been outright fired since the end of the season?

Genuinely asking. I think the number is very, very small.

I don’t know but it’s something I have wondered about as well. Confirmation and recency bias lends me to think coordinator dismissals numbers are low without a head coach change. I think Most of the movement comes from positive attrition.

I can’t think of a single one since the end of the season, although I’m sure I’m missing something.

It’s almost always a “mutual parting of the ways” or a “taking another job”. This isn’t the NFL.
