Dummies on the board don’t want to acknowledge real life logistics and throwing a tantrum it hasn’t happened yet
I think you are conflating two points. Yes, the hiring of someone reasonably can wait until the end of their season. That applies to the interview process too. However, that has absolutely zero bearing on the firing of Josh Gattis. You do not need to have his replacement lined up to fire Gattis. And frankly, as objective and patient as I am, this is starting to feel a whole lot like the Manny situation last year in that he was going to stay if they couldn't get Mario.

If Mario had fired Gattis by now, this conversation would have a completely different tenor. At this point, while Mario does not owe us any explanation or move on a timeline, people are 100% well within their rights to react to it negatively and question whether or not a change will happen. And that is 100% on Mario.

I love to gamble on sports

Someone give me odds…. My top two bets for next Miami OC are

Garret Riley
Andy Ludwig

Ludwig should be his #1 priority. He can stay true to the style he likes and still be efficient and put up points

If people want to complain that it hasn’t happened yet….. fine complain.

But to take it the extra step and say because he hasn’t been fired yet means he is staying is beyond R-worded

That's fair, but there is also zero reason to continue to have him employed if he will not be here next year. It is indefensible. You cannot convince me this did not impact WR recruiting and Mario's first obligation is to the school, not Josh Gattis saving face when making almost $2m/yr.

My only assumption is Mario believes Gattis’s offense will work with better personnel and less injuries. The OL should be better next year with portal additions and guys coming back from injury.

Injured:
TVD
Parrish
Chaney
Citizen
X
George
Arroyo
Clark
Rivers
Nelson

Portal:
Cohen

I believe Gattis will be back. Hopefully we’ll add another experienced lineman and two more wideouts via the portal to help us some.
Lol rhe oc sucks ne can leave with him when he fails and he will. So predictable

I agree with you on this component

Riley plays on 12/31, Ludwig on 1/2.

Riley might have much higher aspirations and is sa flight risk after one season. Ludwig might be the guy. I can picture Mario hiring the OC that beat his team twice in a season.

For anyone not familiar with Ludwig, who has a great resume and worked with James Franklin at Vandy, watch the 2022 offense vs USC

There is actually strategy to his playcalling….. and did a great job of featuring TEs. I would be through the moon with Ludwig

Exactly.

Your job as the coach anywhere is to give yourself the absolute best chance to succeed with any aspect of the program. Keeping Gattis around didn't help in any way, in fact it hurt it by keeping him on board as you alluded to.

If he's fired, Mario failed in the timing of it. Yet another L to this point for the man in charge.

Saw the first play and formation and immediately turned it off

I'd absolutely take that any day. Riley comes in and lights up a scoreboard then maybe it dispels the notion that Mario will only run one type of offense and he has to have his hands in it. Plus if he gets hired after one season, that one season would have to be absolutely nuts in terms of numbers.
