pathetic at this point...Mario is all about recruiting, but apparently he doesn't give a crap about anything else. is he gonna take 4+ months to make a coaching change, only for it to be as bad or worse as the Gattis hire? looks like it, if he even has the balls to make a move...
There is no excuse.

Buy out? No. We pay an 18 year old 2 mil a year in NIL. It's pennies.

Finding a replacement before firing? No. Even a child could make a better game plan. No need to find a replacement before firing him.

Recruiting? No. We did not add any true high quality guys that weren't already locks.

Has his own players now? No. Any players with 2 arms and 2 legs can score a TD with as many attempts as we had.

Mario likes him? Perhaps. Sad if true. You don't reward the poorest performance ever with another year. You eat 2 mil off your salary to get anther coordinator. It costs you 1.2 mil net of tax savings to learn a lesson.

Waiting on bowl games to get high level replacement? Perhaps but again **** poor to not fire before. We had no reason to keep and weren't playing a bowl game. This is the last straw before people claiming he is getting fired jump ship to the reality "oh ****" moment.

No logic to why gattis is still here unless he is being retained.
Sure there is… Mario has shown a history of taking his time with these things. I’m not trying to spin that as a positive either, because it is beleaguering history. At this point, we have been told Gattis is gone, and I believe the people reporting, my bigger concern now is who will replace him.

He doesn't have "a buyout". He signed a 2 year contract and has ONE year remaining. It is that simple. It will cost many multiples of his $1.8M contract in lost ticket, parking and concession sales if he is retained. Not to mention the major hit on WR recruiting.

I agree that lost game revenue would cost more than 1.8 million, but for all the fans bluster, people will show up initially.

His buyout for us is likely the remainder of his contract. That's a buyout.

Usually when a team comes for a coach, there's also a buyout for that coach. No clue what it is, but that's a protective measure to safeguard coaches at particular schools. I imagine that clause can be dropped though.

Hope he's gone, but that's doubtful at this point.

Gattis aside, it's very very curious that we haven't heard a single peep about coaching movement or intentions from players like TVD about their intentions. 5-7 or 11-1, there is almost always attrition from a coaching staff.

There's either going to be a series of major news dumps come next week or Mario is asleep at the wheel. I'd like to think it's the former but who the heck knows at this point.
Mario!!....Wake tf up....

I’ve been saying this for a while. You should be worried any time you hear a coach say he wants to be “multiple” on offense at the college level. It rarely works.
Georgia and Bama do it. Mario is following the Bama protocol and this is what he wants.
