Josh Gattis (before its deleted)

I've decided to just keep quiet and check the board every few days or the Herald. Seems like this should have been handled by now. I just don't know why Mario cares so much about how Gattis lands. He's a big boy. Coaches get fired all the time. Some very unceremoniusly.

Its like getting cut from the team, it hurts but we survive to try again. If Mario is pampering him, I got a bad feeling about his leadership. This should be fairly routine in this game.

If you’re checking the Herald you’ll know 2 days after this site knows…😂

So Ponce wasn’t invested in the Clemson game—aka not doing his job—but was not only kept on staff for one additional game, but also was kept through ESD, is still on staff, and still apparently recruiting, but has actually been told he’s not returning and the hold up is waiting until he has a soft landing spot elsewhere? That all just seems impossibly hard to believe.
I’m merely watching from my TV at this point, but there were a couple instances where he looked out of it. Not engaged, sitting on the bench at times instead of standing with the team, etc. We’ve already been over via the insiders and prominent posters why publicly firing coaches that late in the season (one game left) isn’t a good idea for future offensive candidates.

If I’m wrong, so be it. But the source is pretty **** close to the family. Cribby then circled back to his different sources and we came to the same answer.
As for you, I’ll say this: you better **** well hope Gattis stays at this point, or I’ll be coming for your neck. Your schtick is so beta, it’s embarrassing at this point.

Can’t wait. If I’m wrong and something changed, I’m wrong and I’ll wear it on the chin like a man. But if I and the insiders are right, oh baby…it’ll be biblical on here.

Now add in Gattis with basically those same assumptions.

Perfectly logical.

I’m not the one making predictions as definitive statements while acting condescending towards anyone who simply points out the facts. My point all along has been no one knows for certain whether Gattis is coming back. If he’s fired, you’ll be right because you guessed right. Congratulations. You bet on red and the ball landed on red.

I’m also not the one posting every single day “he’s still here?” In a sarcastic, condescending tone. No **** he’s still here, you just want to make a point.

Let’s see what happens.

I am hoping we get some good news by this time next week. I simply cannot fathom that Miami would make the investment they are in this program, have nailed the best recruiting class in decades, and would handicap the programs offensive development / productivity by keeping the most inept OC that UM has had in it's history. We have already seen the impact on attempting to recruit WR's, and ticket renewals will take a major hit as a Gattis offense is unwatchable. We couldn't even GIVE away our Club seats for the Pitt game.

This right here. Mario isn’t stupid. He’s cutthroat, but he’s not a d!ck either. This business is all about relationships. You don’t publicly fire Ponce and Gattis with one game left in the season, this isn’t the NFL. He gave them every single chance to make this offense look competent, and it failed. He also underestimated the importance of continuity on an offensive staff - you throw an OC, QB coach, TE coach and RB coach that never worked together and this is what you get.

Look, I want the changes to happen asap just like everyone else. Does it make sense to drag it out 2-3 days after New Year’s Day? No, not at all. I hope not; But I refuse to think that there will be no changes to the offense. He’s not an idiot, and it clearly affected his baby: recruiting.

True. But I don't visit CIS(except basketball) every day anymore so I'll be glad to get the info anyplace I can.

This man should be gone.

If he keeps Gattis he better learn to love the echo of his players getting tackled on 3rd and 11 in an empty stadium.
For **** sure. I came down for 2 games and went to GT coming from the northeast. My father has season tickets. We both won’t be going if the same crap is out there - but I highly, highly doubt (since speaking in absolutes upsets certain porsters) it will be.

The continuity point is reasonable, but I also think a competent OC can easily pull his staff together and get them on the same page even if he didn’t choose them. Running a college offense needn’t be that complicated. Mario’s failure was probably some combination of striking out on preferred candidates and a poor eval/due diligence on Gattis. Beyond just being a bad OC, Gattis clearly has really **** poor leadership ability.

Gaddis should have been fired Nov27th.

When you ignore the CIS insiders, the noise, and forget what you've read and just look at the current situation as it stands today based on his past job performance, there is no logical reason why he is still here. Except...., that he won't be fired. Mario appears be be giving everyone on staph a second chance, I'm afraid.

Ask your self a simple question, are there signs/smoke he will be fired or are there signs he will be staying?

Happy New Year!

I just don't get the keeping him around. Any coach in college football knows going multiple games without scoring a touchdown in this day and age is a fireable offense.

I get this is a pro offense. Problem is, in the pros, guys are expected in the facility 8 hours a day until they learn it. It's their job. You only have so much time with kids in college, and that's why everyone runs simpler spread stuff.
