I’ve been saying this for a while. You should be worried any time you hear a coach say he wants to be “multiple” on offense at the college level. It rarely works.I just don't get the keeping him around. Any coach in college football knows going multiple games without scoring a touchdown in this day and age is a fireable offense.
I get this is a pro offense. Problem is, in the pros, guys are expected in the facility 8 hours a day until they learn it. It's their job. You only have so much time with kids in college, and that's why everyone runs simpler spread stuff.
We are trying add so much mass to this thread, that when the Maude collapse this thread it creates a black hole and suck Gattis in... In theory at least.
He doesn't have "a buyout". He signed a 2 year contract and has ONE year remaining. It is that simple. It will cost many multiples of his $1.8M contract in lost ticket, parking and concession sales if he is retained. Not to mention the major hit on WR recruiting. He's likely staying, that's why he's still here. The only reason he wouldn't be is if it saves money and his replacement is on board, but the timing doesn't matter much.
All this, he's waiting for him to be hired away stuff, it's bs. Anyone who would like to hire Gattis would do their due diligence on him and see the **** show he served up this past season. If they still wanted him at that point, it wouldn't matter as you already know he sucks. It wouldn't matter if he was fired. Still being employed here doesn't matter one bit, you'd know what you're getting. You'd also have to buy him out, in which case you'd rather he had been fired.
So he's staying or they're waiting to pay his buyout at a lower rate at whatever date that becomes effective. My money is he's sticking around at this point. Someone would've let the cat out of the bag if he's a gone, but not off the books yet. It's cost us however many skill position guys, so the damage has been done. More to come next year.
With that said, I’m shocked he’s still around. Figured he be out after Pitt. But the boards biggest, “Insiders,” said he’s gone lol. I bet half of you guys have been duped by the prince of Nigeria.
If he keeps Gattis he better learn to love the echo of his players getting tackled on 3rd and 11 in an empty stadium.
Logical.Gaddis should have been fired Nov27th.
When you ignore the CIS insiders, the noise, and forget what you've read and just look at the current situation as it stands today based on his past job performance, there is no logical reason why he is still here. Except...., that he won't be fired. Mario appears be be giving everyone on staph a second chance, I'm afraid.
Ask your self a simple question, are there signs/smoke he will be fired or are there signs he will be staying?
Happy New Year!
Just posted this on another threadAnyone watching Duke-UCF?
Bring me Kevin Johns!
I'd love that, one of my favorite among the realistic namesAnyone watching Duke-UCF?
Bring me Kevin Johns!
Logical.
But, so is the argument that Gattis will say “employed” until his replacement is sourced. Both are meritorious and both are plausible. The difference is that it is nearly impossible to show evidence that Gattis is conditionally fired, while it is very easy to argue that he has not been fired.
I’m going with the “Gattis has been sacked“ crowd because they are trustworthy posters and another year of Gattis at the helm is too depressing to contemplate.
pathetic at this point...Mario is all about recruiting, but apparently he doesn't give a crap about anything else. is he gonna take 4+ months to make a coaching change, only for it to be as bad or worse as the Gattis hire? looks like it, if he even has the balls to make a move...No logic to why gattis is still here unless he is being retained.
