It was Lamont Galliard and Arthur Williams. His coach on one of the other sites, posted for four months that he had two awesome D-linemen. Repeatedly emailed and mailed videos for months to our coaches. No one ever responded. A couple of weeks ago, when we were at a rival high school recruiting someone else, that head coach talked about those guys and pointed them into our direction. We offered both two days later.

Similar with Marcus Mosely from Tampa. We supposedly actually offered the kid. Then Brennan Carroll calls up the coach months later and asks him "who is this Mosely kid?"

Some isolated incidents. These coaches obviously are recruiting a bunch of kids, but lets take the good and the bad with our recruiting. We don't get Sony. We don't get Matt Thomas. We don't get Alex Collins. We've got some issues.

Honestly, I am not going to defend the coaches. I don't know their recruiting process, I don't know their method of reaching out to coaches or asking coaches to reach out to them. I don't know if they get 1000s of videos per week or 5. I am glad their coach stayed with it and kept emailing/mailing. Did you ever think though that the emails were going to spam, bounced from the server or sent to the wrong address? This seems extremely isolated to say the least, one coach with two players keeps following up and due to "miscommunication"
the Miami staff never sees it. Occam's razor....Sometimes in life, the simplest answer is usually the answer.

We eventually offered so the staff likes those kids to offer, I know that spring is the recruiting period when most kids receive their offers so in terms of late, I wouldn't say it is late. In terms of upsetting the coach/recruits, I hope they realize that the staff meant no disrespect or delay is my guess.

As for Marcus Mosely, who offered him? Was it a coach that left the program? Sounds to me like some bogus stuff. I haven't heard the name mentioned on this site, so maybe others know if he did interviews/showed interest in Miami.

There are incidents, there are kids we directly lose to other schools. There are kids who we give our best efforts but come in second place. Not sure who these kids are per se because we don't have all the details (i.e. if it was we were out-recruited). I know there were a couple of DTs last year who he really were frustrating to lose (Bryant and Bostwick) but these incidents will determine the staffs success with recruiting. Let's hope they are more isolated because 3 kids in 4 years is EXTREMELY ISOLATED even if all is true.

Canesfrom,

What do you think is going on? Because from what we hear the staff is extremely organized. Too me it sounds like mis-communication not intentional. I don't know much info about that Tampa story and the facts seem to be limited.

Seems like since 2010 (when hired), the staff has been busting it with recruiting and trying to out work everyone.

I've personally emailed Brennan 3 times about a kid I'm working with & got zero response. Yet Bama, Vandy & UT are talking to him already. In full disclosure, this kid is a diehard Bama fan unfortunately & he respectfully listens everytime I tell Canes stories but he knows where he wants to go. But nothing from Brennan. I'm sure he's busy & he has no clue who I am nor does he care.

You ever think it is the simple reason that he has no clue who you are. Full disclosure.

I emailed Al Golden when he was hired, no response (what a dlck).

I emailed Donna about a stadium, no response (a truly **** move)

I emailed Coach Konkol about a basketball transfer, no response (talk about @ss bag).

These coaches are not here to correspond directly with the fans. Ever think that if they read it, they may not respond to it.

That was kind of my point... I think u took that the wrong way. The coaches aren't going to respond unless they know who the f#ck you are. They get 19 billion emails a day saying "hey look at my window licker! He's the best football player in the country!"

Booker t fiasco- staff give Kirkland an ultimatum. Big deal
Mat Thomas- just see current events

Amari cooper- hey there Monday morning qb. He was not this sure fire can't miss prospect. Oh and it helps and receivers look pretty good when you can run the ball as well as bama.

Disagree with Coop, when his film was out u can tell he was gona be a boss. I thought he was the best prospect at wr that year easily. You cant even jam that kid he was out when thaqt ball was snapped.

We tried to force him to commit and turned him off. Posted numerous times.

Booker T was not handled well despite whether we were in the right. Never should allowed to go public. Ice on the radio complaining we took an offer away three days before signing day is awful. It also probably had an impact on Thomas, regardless of what has happened now. That is a feeder school. We should have gotten those kids.

I've read recently on other boards (and maybe this one) where high school coaches email videos to the coaches for months with no response. Finally when the coaches figure out another prospect in the area (think this was the two D-lineman in North Carolina), we "discover them." Also recently happened in Tampa with Brennan Carroll with another prospect.

We've signed some great players and I know Golden can recruit. But I think we are not yet that well oiled machine like Urban Meyer was or Nick Saban.

Is your school in the Canes recruiting ground? Just wondering, cause our school is and the Miami coaches don't even show their faces around here. (and one of our former kids is playing on their O-line) SMH

That's been my only complaint with the Miami staff. When i have a kid who's getting offers from the SEC and ACC and Miami won't even come take a look.

Won't take a look or hasn't taken a look?

I am curious bc I don't understand the process.

I think we are light years ahead than Randy's regime (although personally if randy were here we wouldn't have lost the booker t kids or Sony). Now we wouldn't of had yearby or some of the other kids, but usually got the dade kids.

From a social media, evaluation, and effortless perspective, think we are doing pretty well. Also the guys we do like we are all over.

But it sounds like we are chasing guys too long and don't have a great sense as to where they are going. We lost a lot on signing day and the staff should have known where these guys were going to go. Not easy, but that's what elite recruiters do.

Personally, I don't love Carroll and don't think he is as organized or good of a recruiter as people think.

Hopeful that Scott, coley and brown, all seem like excellent recruiters, can help turn things around

Anytime an ACC school offers somebody, Miami is notified. (all ACC schools are notified)

So when Miami is notified that a local RB/athlete has just been offered by several schools in the ACC, it's up to Miami to say "hey maybe there's a local kid who slipped under our radar. Lets take a 30 minute ride over to his school and atleast check him out." That's thorough recruiting. They didn't even do that.

Then you look the kid up, you see that he's 6'0" 185lbs runs a 4.38 and now has offers from BCS top-25 schools and several SEC schools yet you STILL don't even come by and look at him?

Then you go to Naples and sign a kid named Danny Dillard.

CF,

Thanks for your thoughts. Although compared to RS, anything is light years ahead of that regime and is not saying much.

I honestly don't know what the staff believes (in terms of whether a kid may come to Miami or not) but I do believe Al doesn't want to play games. IMO they are trying to get kids to commit early and secure a spot so we can avoid the waiting game. I also think the staff is sticking to the camps at Miami, they want kids to come to the camps and perform in front of the staff. Al always is talking about camps (not just for seniors but everyone) and developing relationships...I know this is a big deal to him.

I think losing Fisch (just because he was the OC), Richardson and McDonald hurt recruiting temporarily and now Brown/Scott and Coley are making up for lost time.

I like BC, I guess I don't really know but I just like him based on what I hear.

I don't know the best way to recruit, at the end of the day these little battles (isolated incidents) may be the difference between wins and losses or it may mean nothing or somewhere in between. Let's hope that we get some big time DTs, some of the elite talent in South Florida (Lane, Dixon, Jojo Robinson etc.) and some top kids nationally (Holley DT from up north).

Why don't you just tell us the kid's name?

Lmao yeah now I'm a little curious. @wildcatdefense I live in the heart of SEC Country unfortunately, TN. Love the state, not crazy about the football fans!

I did not know the first part. What are we required to give notice to other schools about offers? That is really stupid IMO.

So here are our lineman from Florida:

Felicano (Western HS, Wildcats)

Flowers (Miami Norland HS, they are the Vikings)

Isidora (Cypress Bay HS, Lightning)

McDermott (Palm Beach Central HS)

Wheeler (American Heritage HS, Patriots)

(I assume it isn't Linder from STA)

I assume by your handle you are a coach/fan at/of Western HS.

So let me ask you a question, the kid was a local RB and there is already a lineman on the team. Why didn't you talk to the lineman for help? Did the kid go to the summer camps? Is the kid's name Fabian Moreau?

Not trying to be a d!ck just curious. In the same class we signed Duke Johnson (if it is Fabian Moreau) and maybe the staff was looking for a bigger back.

It's not Arthur Williams, his teammate is Harold Landry. The coach posts on here too. Williams is a recruit from North Carolina that was offered and is really high on Miami. Different school.

Fabian definitely couldve been brought in as an ATH. Last year was a small class, but he still has the talent to play. As for Miami never showing their face, they can't please everyone. There's a lot of south Florida schools with d1 talent and they can't see them all. No offense but Western isnt exactly at a level of a Miami Central. Fabian is my friend but he was definitely a late bloomer, that couldve affected his recruitment to Miami, they couldve seen him as a jr & not liked him as a player. He is gonna be a stud, I was surprised they switched him to DB. And what SEC & ACC offers did he have? I thought UCLA was his biggest offer

If it is Fabian Moreau, he wasn't in the 2013 class. He was in the 2012 class.

Yeah I forgot he was 2012 and it was Fabian, he was the best player for western for a while.
