It was Lamont Galliard and Arthur Williams. His coach on one of the other sites, posted for four months that he had two awesome D-linemen. Repeatedly emailed and mailed videos for months to our coaches. No one ever responded. A couple of weeks ago, when we were at a rival high school recruiting someone else, that head coach talked about those guys and pointed them into our direction. We offered both two days later.
Similar with Marcus Mosely from Tampa. We supposedly actually offered the kid. Then Brennan Carroll calls up the coach months later and asks him "who is this Mosely kid?"
Some isolated incidents. These coaches obviously are recruiting a bunch of kids, but lets take the good and the bad with our recruiting. We don't get Sony. We don't get Matt Thomas. We don't get Alex Collins. We've got some issues.
Honestly, I am not going to defend the coaches. I don't know their recruiting process, I don't know their method of reaching out to coaches or asking coaches to reach out to them. I don't know if they get 1000s of videos per week or 5. I am glad their coach stayed with it and kept emailing/mailing. Did you ever think though that the emails were going to spam, bounced from the server or sent to the wrong address? This seems extremely isolated to say the least, one coach with two players keeps following up and due to "miscommunication"
the Miami staff never sees it. Occam's razor....Sometimes in life, the simplest answer is usually the answer.
We eventually offered so the staff likes those kids to offer, I know that spring is the recruiting period when most kids receive their offers so in terms of late, I wouldn't say it is late. In terms of upsetting the coach/recruits, I hope they realize that the staff meant no disrespect or delay is my guess.
As for Marcus Mosely, who offered him? Was it a coach that left the program? Sounds to me like some bogus stuff. I haven't heard the name mentioned on this site, so maybe others know if he did interviews/showed interest in Miami.
There are incidents, there are kids we directly lose to other schools. There are kids who we give our best efforts but come in second place. Not sure who these kids are per se because we don't have all the details (i.e. if it was we were out-recruited). I know there were a couple of DTs last year who he really were frustrating to lose (Bryant and Bostwick) but these incidents will determine the staffs success with recruiting. Let's hope they are more isolated because 3 kids in 4 years is EXTREMELY ISOLATED even if all is true.
Canesfrom,
What do you think is going on? Because from what we hear the staff is extremely organized. Too me it sounds like mis-communication not intentional. I don't know much info about that Tampa story and the facts seem to be limited.
Seems like since 2010 (when hired), the staff has been busting it with recruiting and trying to out work everyone.
