you cant expect Scarlett to act like everything is cool w/ UM when he has seen all of the guys he respects as football players "dissed" by this staff.

Who has been dissed? Who are all these players that have been dissed and how were they dissed?

Perception is reality for these young kids, and the perception is Skai Moore, Jordan Cunningham, Quincy Wilson, and Bain have all not been recruited like they "should've" been by this staff.

so you talking fsu staff or mia staff?

I dont get it

I guess the only way to avoid "dissing" a player is to give them a committable offer even if you've evaluated them and had other players rated higher that you would have liked to hold out for. Just load up our roster with 2-3 teammates of every elite recruit so there are no hard feelings between the kid, his school, and us even if it means running out of spots for higher rated prospects that we've got a legit shot at. Hey, that's probably not a smart way to go if you want to stockpile your roster with elite talent and depth but at least nobody's feelings get hurt.

When you say not recruited by this staff, don't know if your talking about your team (fsu) or the Mia staff. Because looks like neither staffs were interested. So don't know what one you were talking about.

Scarlett is the real prize at that school.

Me, Pete, courcy and Cans sat in the stands and watched him tear apart a good Chaminade team. Best athlete on the field by far. He has the look of a future five-star.

Hes definitely gonna be 5 star when 247 rankings come out

I will definitely take your word for it. But I still stand by my statement that we didnt have the luxury of developing him like LSU probably does. Didnt someone say those mofos signed like 7 DTs? Lol! I hope I read that wrong. Smh.

Well yeah, you're definitely right about that.

Ain't nobody got time for dat!

The only one who can make an argument of being dissed is Bain because he was being recruited hard at dt and his coaching staff moved him to guard and it turned off UM so he said in an interview that UM just stopped hitting him up. Other then that though everybody else either didn't earn an offer, got an offer or was a product of numbers last year.

Once again, how did we diss someone at that school?

Did we tease someone? Did we pull a scholarship?

That's the thing we didn't. Bain would've been recruited the hardest but his coaches ****ed it up for him. Cunningham got recruited but he was 3rd behind AJL and Coley and as we all know they both took a long time in their process so that hurt Cunningham. Moore was a numbers guy who if Thomas told the staff even in December or January that he wasn't going to UM I think Moore gets the offer and commits. This 2014 db who remains nameless just never earned it.

You just pulled that out of your *** because Bain played Guard the year before too it wasn't a switch that was made his senior year. No one really knows what happened, u school coaches could've pushed him to LSU, he could've picked LSU over us, or the staff didnt like him as a prospect anymore at DT & felt good about getting Bryant + Bostwick. All speculation. Regardless, Scarlett, Causey, & Bruce look to be better prospects. Scarlett is a player that can impact the game any time he touches the ball

I read about that with Bain when that happened his senior year alot and he said UM before the season was really interested but a few games in when he got more and more playing time at guard that UM just stopped hitting him up so that's not pulling out of my ***. My b if he did play guard as a junior but I go off of what I read for a while and what Bain himself said

So I guess uif and fswho dissed the u school to? Why no hate to them?

To actually analyze the quote, the pushy part may be for pushing for early commits. The second part is how we drop guys all of a sudden

Regardless of the bias, not a positive sign for our staff of expert recruiters. Quotes like this and examples like the booker t fiasco, the Amari cooper situation leads me to believe that our strategy is not sound. We haven't found te right mix and plan yet, which in year three is a bit puzzling

If so, why we land guys like AQM, Sandland and T. Howard? If I´m not wrong all three were another team lock... maybe, just maybe, it has something to do with good strategy.

Strange how some people jump at this staff without hear their side of the history. Our strategy is so flawled that even with **** NCAA on us(incredible how this is always overlooked), years of "irrelevance", we are still landing top porspects.

We are luck to have a guy like Golden in times like this...

There's no point arguing with these dip****s here. Most of em are probably 15 years old like the U school kids.

Not correct sir. I didn't call you a name or a dip****. Your retort is much more a sign of immaturity than anything i said. I am a huge Golden supporter and donor to the school. But there have been some puzzling issues on recruiting that I wouldn't have expected of him.

Booker t fiasco- staff give Kirkland an ultimatum. Big deal
Mat Thomas- just see current events

Amari cooper- hey there Monday morning qb. He was not this sure fire can't miss prospect. Oh and it helps and receivers look pretty good when you can run the ball as well as bama.

Disagree with Coop, when his film was out u can tell he was gona be a boss. I thought he was the best prospect at wr that year easily. You cant even jam that kid he was out when thaqt ball was snapped.

We tried to force him to commit and turned him off. Posted numerous times.

Booker T was not handled well despite whether we were in the right. Never should allowed to go public. Ice on the radio complaining we took an offer away three days before signing day is awful. It also probably had an impact on Thomas, regardless of what has happened now. That is a feeder school. We should have gotten those kids.

I've read recently on other boards (and maybe this one) where high school coaches email videos to the coaches for months with no response. Finally when the coaches figure out another prospect in the area (think this was the two D-lineman in North Carolina), we "discover them." Also recently happened in Tampa with Brennan Carroll with another prospect.

We've signed some great players and I know Golden can recruit. But I think we are not yet that well oiled machine like Urban Meyer was or Nick Saban.

Which kid did we recently discover? This story is missing names and makes little sense, no disrespect.

It was Lamont Galliard and Arthur Williams. His coach on one of the other sites, posted for four months that he had two awesome D-linemen. Repeatedly emailed and mailed videos for months to our coaches. No one ever responded. A couple of weeks ago, when we were at a rival high school recruiting someone else, that head coach talked about those guys and pointed them into our direction. We offered both two days later.

Similar with Marcus Mosely from Tampa. We supposedly actually offered the kid. Then Brennan Carroll calls up the coach months later and asks him "who is this Mosely kid?"

Some isolated incidents. These coaches obviously are recruiting a bunch of kids, but lets take the good and the bad with our recruiting. We don't get Sony. We don't get Matt Thomas. We don't get Alex Collins. We've got some issues.

This.

I'll give our staff a solid B on the recuiting front and these mishaps are the reason for them not getting an A+.
The one time these recruits will hold any power is during the recruiting process... they hold all the cards on where they will end up. Having a recruit throw away your teams cap on signing day is nowhere near as damaging as pulling said kid's offer 3 days before signing day and ****ing off a high school staff to a school in your backyard and having it go public... Golden and staff have to navigate these situations a little better is all.

I love the majority of recruits we've landed and continue to land this cycle but the bad pub has been damaging to this staff and can't continue. It doesn't matter that kids from the U school sound embittered to us, the staff has smooth that and throw a bone every once in a while( not offering Skai Moore a day before signing day when he was asking for a offer for months, and maybe tell Wilson he can compete at corner and offer him) and get in the good graces of a recruiting area and a school that produces talent.

Some of you guys sound like a bunch of scorned women with your conspiracy theories on here.

I've personally emailed Brennan 3 times about a kid I'm working with & got zero response. Yet Bama, Vandy & UT are talking to him already. In full disclosure, this kid is a diehard Bama fan unfortunately & he respectfully listens everytime I tell Canes stories but he knows where he wants to go. But nothing from Brennan. I'm sure he's busy & he has no clue who I am nor does he care.
