Johnnie Dixon to Ohio Taint

Did he really say they throw the ball? LMAO

Passing offense rank:

Ohio St - 91
Miami - 29

Oh Johnnie, maybe you should enroll in Paranos' special needs program.

Further testament to Irvin Meyers wiping the floor with Al's greasy mop. He managed to walk into Johnnie's house and convince him that they will throw him the ball despite the numbers telling him something completely different. That's called sales, and that's what recruiting is. Meyers wiped his *** with Al's face on this one.

quit being a ****, considering you said yesterday you could give two ****s if he committed here.

Quit sniffing my ***. I don't care about Dixon, but Al did. Al had him targeted as one of his top WR prospects. Urbanwalked into Al's backyard and took Dixon from him despite having the 92nd ranked pass offense, Dixon's mom wanting him at UM, and Dixon spending more time on UM's campus than most UM students.

FIFY. Also, did you happen to maybe think that it could be Dwyer's coach? I know I know, I'll let you get onto your bashing. Because Nick Saban has never lost a recruiting battle....ever.

Why did the Dwyer coach let O'Leary attend FSU? How did Golden get Chad, Jackson and Bethal away from the "racist" Ice Harris?

What it comes down to is, I can't blame Golden for Dixon being a mental midget.

You hear these kids talk about who's recruiting them the hardest, the reply is usually 'the U', and really, that's about the most you can ask. Of course, Golden could've realized from the drool running down Dixon's chin that maybe he wasn't the brightest bulb. That he possibly would spurn his 'dream school' for Columbus, Ohio, to play in a run-first offensive system, but hey...that's all revisionist history.

IN the end, it's Dixon who pulled his panties down and allowed the Urban Cryer to **** his future up the *** by convincing him to attend Ohio Taint. Kids are impressionable, don't always make smart choices.

Been following recruiting a long time. Here's my quick take right or wrong.

1. Recruiting is a completely different game now than even 10 years ago. The internet and every other social media site has made previously hard to get places, like Belle Glade for example, completely accessible. Traveling teams, camps, street agents, are more prevalent than ever before. The diamond in the rough is a needle in the haystack now more than ever. The recruiting advantage that the U had geographically has been somewhat compromised by all of this.

2. Power conferences, TV contracts, and an uber-competitive mindset, has changed the game whereby some of the best coaches in football sometimes choose to stay in college or coach in college because the money is just as good as the pros and with better security. This has given some of the power schools in power conferences a competitive advantage on average which often times translates on to the recruiting field. It also translates to winning at all costs whereby HS coaches get commissions to send kids to other colleges. That's what I meant about the competitive mindset. It's extreme and at all costs. We're just at a disadvantage there.

3. Saban, Meyer, and Jimbo, for example, will continue to come into Miami and take kids because they have the record and the pitch to do so. It's that simple. Say what you want about weather, chicks, academics, etc., it's not as important as some make it out to be. Strip it all away. At the end of the day, you are left with enormously successful coaches with winning records and a track record of success. That's so much of an easier pitch. If Miami wants to build that fence around the "State of Miami", it isn't happening unless they start winning.

4. Personally, I don't give a isht about Dixon like some do on here. Good player but not elite like a Coley. Regardless, you have to chalk this up as a loss because it was clear that Golden wanted him, and that's all that matters.

This. And it starts with coaching .Meyer nearly had back to back undefeated seasons with Buckeye squads that were not exceptional after dominating at BG, Utah and Florida. Saban is Saban.

Fact is they have something Al doesn't have yet....credibility.

Whatever Daniels said about Miami in the media is BS. All the stuff we read about him loving Miami and having Miami in the lead...........

Fact is Golden didn't close. Can't blame Daniels. Gotta close despite him.

Oh man I love this. And what exactly should Golden have done differently?

If the kid wants to leave, then he's going to leave!!! Maybe he saw all the WRs we have, and got scared of the depth chart. LMAO. People in here thinking Dixon is the man, but maybe he saw Langham, Barrios and Brady and the dudes we already have, and figured there wasnt a chance in **** he would see the field next year.

There are 1 million and 1 variables as to why a kid may choose the school he chooses. All this "Golden cant close" sh*t is lame. Guy has put together a MONSTER class. Ive heard that "Coach X cant close" Bullsh*T for a decade and a half on these boards. Butch couldnt close. Coker couldnt close, its always the other coach who was better. But then Coker DID close. and WOW what a great collection of blue chip talent he closed on. Willie Williams, Kyle Wright, Ryan Moore, Lance Leggett, it was a 5 star hit parade and look how well that turned out.

We are coming off a decade of mediocrity and irrelevance, TWO years of no bowls, and a 9-3 season. And we have one of the top classes in the nation. But HEAVEN F*CKING FORBID Urban Meyer came down to Florida and took ONE WR, of the 20 + we offered, 3 of which we already have on board, well, we should fire Golden, he "cant close".

And THIS is a FAIR issue. Meyer and Saban are the two most successful college HCs in the game right now. Of course they have a lot of credibility with kids. I mean people act like we just lost the best prospect to come out of Florida in a decade to Northern Illinois

Thought the kid said he grew up a Miami fan.

Whatever. It matters little.

I'm not like this with most kids, for example i'll be crushed when Cook does the inevitable and chooses FSU, but serious, **** Dixon. If he was really leaning Miami but was that awed by a dude that quit on UF for 'health reasons' (more like marriage problems) and if it was that easy to be swayed to the pimple in the nation's armpit that is Columbus Ohio, to play in that offense...then he's a dumbass loser and good riddance.

All I'm saying if we (I've done some too) are going to ***** about the guys Golden doesn't close on, then we better praise him on the guys he does close on. He has gone head to head with big coaches and beat them for players, too. I'll be fair and consistent in my praise or lack thereof when it comes to Golden and his closing power. Did he miss closing on Dixon? Yes. Did he close on Hester over the best defensive coordinator in the country and ***? Yes. Just be consistent and try seeing things objectively every now and then. It makes the discussion better.

Fact is Golden didn't close. Can't blame Daniels. Gotta close despite him.

Did Saban fail too even though everybody thinks he's the best recruiter of all time?

Yeah. Saban has failed to close on some guys.

What's your point?

Can't use corrupt coaches as an excuse.

Gotta close despite them.

Who's using that? Regardless of if the coaching was corrupt or if the kid didn't want to come it isn't as simple as you succeed or fail you just didn't win. Saban loses many a year but he's great so why is Golden getting killed?

Nobody but Urban or the Gators was getting Dixon

Coach Danield would rather drink lava than have his top prospect commit to Miami

We will never have a Dwyer prospect here

Jack Daniels just like Ice does not hate Miami. Why would he hate Miami? He is a UF alumni. He sent O'Leary to FSU, UF's main rival. Now tell me why he hates Miami.

Let's end it right here. Best of luck to you Johnie, maybe next time you should call around to other WR who have failed under Urban. Start with Carter's kid. If you ain't with us then your against us.

Then he is to stupid to be here. People lie numbers don't. Check our WR (AND Coleys at FSU) compared to O Taint in the NFL

Then wouldn't Chad and all other defensive recruit be stupid for playing for a coordinator that yet to field a average defense or allow players to make plays?

O'Leary has a bunch of family that went to FSU.
