Johnnie Dixon to Ohio Taint

Did he really say they throw the ball? LMAO

Oh Johnnie, maybe you should enroll in Paranos' special needs program.

Further testament to Irvin Meyers wiping the floor with Al's greasy mop. He managed to walk into Johnnie's house and convince him that they will throw him the ball despite the numbers telling him something completely different. That's called sales, and that's what recruiting is. Meyers wiped his *** with Al's face on this one.

Im not even trippin on this kid, but the rationalization is beyond me. If the exact opposite happened, we would have 40 pages of 'Golden just gets it'. This is all starting to remind me of the Coker and Radio days. By that, I mean the people that are in Golden's corner will ignore anything and everything that might show cause for concern. These same posters were beating their chests that Radio went into Canesville and stole 2 mega studs D Davis a Nelson right up under Urban's nose. That Joyner wasnt a big deal, Payne was the best pure cover corner on that STA team. Perry had a way higher ceiling than Lemonier, and so on........

That's some sad memories you just rattled off. The "Payne is better than Joyner" rap was an all-time classic. These fan boys of coaches never learn. They get so star struck and enamored with a coach that they forget to be fans of the program. Like you said, if Al waltzed into Ohio and took a 4 star WR that Irvin Meyers wanted Golden's fan boys would be calling him the greatest recruiter in history and killing Meyers.

Golden lost this recruiting battle to IMO the second best recruiter in CFB, in terms of head coaches.

I got

1. Saban
2. Meyer

Quit sniffing my ***. I don't care about Dixon, but Al did. Al had him targeted as one of his top WR prospects. Irvin walked into Al's backyard and took Dixon from him despite having the 92nd ranked pass offense, Dixon's mom wanting him at UM, and Dixon spending more time on UM's campus than most UM students.

and you don't have a ******* clue as to the dynamics of the situation, so quit acting like you do. Al lost a recruiting battle.....no ******* **** captain obvious. Always using over the top, hyperbolic statements. I'm not sniffing your ***, just calling you out on your bull****.

No. You're sniffing my *** because you didn't call me out on anything. I thoroughly refuted your retarded attempt to call me out.

Lol if you really think Urban used some master recruiting mind tricks to get Dixon and wiped his *** all over Golden

Jack Daniels would die before Miami getting any top prospect from Dwyer. Nothin more nothin less

Been following recruiting a long time. Here's my quick take right or wrong.

1. Recruiting is a completely different game now than even 10 years ago. The internet and every other social media site has made previously hard to get places, like Belle Glade for example, completely accessible. Traveling teams, camps, street agents, are more prevalent than ever before. The diamond in the rough is a needle in the haystack now more than ever. The recruiting advantage that the U had geographically has been somewhat compromised by all of this.

2. Power conferences, TV contracts, and an uber-competitive mindset, has changed the game whereby some of the best coaches in football sometimes choose to stay in college or coach in college because the money is just as good as the pros and with better security. This has given some of the power schools in power conferences a competitive advantage on average which often times translates on to the recruiting field. It also translates to winning at all costs whereby HS coaches get commissions to send kids to other colleges. That's what I meant about the competitive mindset. It's extreme and at all costs. We're just at a disadvantage there.

3. Saban, Meyer, and Jimbo, for example, will continue to come into Miami and take kids because they have the record and the pitch to do so. It's that simple. Say what you want about weather, chicks, academics, etc., it's not as important as some make it out to be. Strip it all away. At the end of the day, you are left with enormously successful coaches with winning records and a track record of success. That's so much of an easier pitch. If Miami wants to build that fence around the "State of Miami", it isn't happening unless they start winning.

4. Personally, I don't give a isht about Dixon like some do on here. Good player but not elite like a Coley. Regardless, you have to chalk this up as a loss because it was clear that Golden wanted him, and that's all that matters.

How do you know where AL had him ranked? I love how everyone here has all this great insight on where our coaches have a player ranked? Just because we offered a kid, and the message board recruitniks decided he was the best on the board, doesnt mean the coaches felt this kid was the end all be all.

Just remember, in a year where we are taking maybe 4 Wrs, we had 3 guys on board while waiting for Johnnie "The GOAT" Dixon, and the staff has still been hard after Rudolph, Lane, and a few others. If you told me the staff had put on the show they did for Cook, you may have something. But to me, we recruited Dixon about the same as we have recruited any other kid. Im sure we did want him, but all this "Al really wanted him", Urban took our "top WR target" is all total speculation. Kid was a good WR, but nothing that wont be replaced by another crop next year. He's a typical Florida 4 star type WR. It would have been nice to have him, but it would also be nice to have Rudolph, Lane, or Griffin. And honestly the consensus is that Rudolph and Lane were a cut above Dixon, and Griffin is a freakish athlete that could really be a game changer here. Id rather have any of those guys over Dixon, though Lane Im borderline on.

I havent been blown away by any Florida WRs this year. So lets cut the cr#p. I mean we have a MONSTER class. We have the best DE in all of Florida. The 2 best DTs in all of Florida. One of the top 3 RBs in Florida and top 5 in the nation, the top QB in Southern Cal. We just poached the best Safety in all of NJ, and one of the best in the nation. We are looking REAL good for one of the best DBs in all of FLorida and the nation.

And now dudes are going to start sh*tting all over Golden again because this good, not great WR decided to go to OSU and spend the next 4 years blocking. Whatever. This is not a situation Im going to sweat. Staff really like Langham, Barrios and Brady. Many feel Brady has as much if not more upside than most of the Florida WRs as it is. If we can somehow get Griffin qualified, IDGAF what Johnnie Dixon does.

Just sick of this "Golden is getting his @ss kicked in recruiting" bullsh*T. I mean this board is beyond f*cking stupid.

I'm usually the biggest meltdown cat. But I don't really care about this kid. He'd be great to have, but he's not some game changer. WR is probably the least important position for me. OL, DL, QB-- if you are elite there, the other positions all improve dramatically in their effectiveness, as long as they are solid.

The exception of course is 5 star unreal talent like a Duke, Cook, Coley, Watkins, Pat Peterson, etc.

Yep, Golden sucks. Fire his @ss now. Our class has crumbled. Johnnie "The Dream" Dixon has decided to go block for the next 4 years at OSU. Might as well just write this whole year off.

This fanbase blames the HS coaches too much. On the ITU board, Ice, Gernon, Luke, Jack Daniels and even the South Florida express coaches have been blamed for a recruit committing else where.

FIFY. Also, did you happen to maybe think that it could be Dwyer's coach? I know I know, I'll let you get onto your bashing. Because Nick Saban has never lost a recruiting battle....ever.
