John huggins talks about miami recruiting strategy.

Every program does this and you could have an interview with 100s of kids each year calling out each school for the same thing.

Yup instead we take Bethel last minute, which may turnout to be a decent player, but was an obvious reach at the moment. If we dont pull Stevenson this year sorry im done with Rumph and Banda. We are missing on too many elite DBs.
It would be more accurate to say we flubbed a single spot in last year's DB class. We took the bait (for better or worse) with Jobe, and lost out to UGA (hottest recruiting in the country last year) for TC. Shot our shot with Surtain, but everyone and their mother knew he was SEC bound. This led us to take a single 3* to go with our four 4*'s. That's not a screwed class.

Concerning Stevenson, would you still be done with Rumph and Banda if they're coaching up All-ACC players in Mike Jack and Jaquan, develop Bandy and Amari into top flight starters, and get serious growth out of all our freshman, but still lose out on Stevenson? I'm frustrated that we rarely land the 5* studs, but these coaches have proven they can recruit "reasonably" and can absolutely coach. If that leads to the Canes winning 10+ games every year, then so what?

this has nothing to with Miami’s recruiting strategy he was barely a 3 star recruit

Next time I’m offered a big time promotion that I want, with a big raise, I’m going to turn it down because I was 2nd choice.

I either want the job or I don’t. You either want to come here or you don’t.

Idgaf which db comes here, besides Stevenson. Every db on the roster has gotten better as soon as they step on campus under Rumph and Banda. The ones that were here before them are all conference players now and 1 may be the 1st corner off the board. R&B aint going nowhere and they arent the problem.

Again, why is it cool for other schools to do this, but not us? F him and that baby soft chit. Battle was just treated the same way by OSU and ran to them the moment they came back calling.

The only reason y we don’t have that luxury is b/c of how we’ve performed on the field for a decade and a 1/2 and we haven’t pumped out 1st rounders like that lately. We should’ve recruited Samuels from the jump, I agree; but miss me w Huggins. Reality Check: You’re the 28th ranked safety, homie! Yes, we had other priorities like other schools!

OP , it's John Huggins. Not Higgins. Anyway, the kid was talented and athletic enough to play here. He had a 109 sparq score. Mainland kids are well coached too.

Higgins is Thomas Magnum's boss.....

Agreed. Easy solution- just win. 11+ a year consistently.

100% agree

Frierson was a win as well. Ivey's pretty good as well. But you're right to a degree, our recruiting at CB/S has been the most lackluster of all the positions sans DT/DE when Kool was here.
Blades, Frierson, and Ivey are all quality players with great talent however 2 are legacies and one was criminally under rated. Hall was the only one that was an outright victory in my opinion.

I liked Troutman but right or wrong, IIRC, there was talk on here about personality conflicts between him and other recruits and the coaches stayed away from him. I recall Frierson as one name. Maybe someone can confirm?
That maybe true idk but even canceling troutman out. We still missed several quality 4 star players.

let me get this straight, we were keeping in contact, but not "enough" contact for Mr. I want to be in my feelings Huggins. This is bullshyt. Funny how Miami has been left at the altar (Reily Gibbons comes to mind) numerous times on a last minute offer. If you really wanted to go somewhere and they came through with an offer, you would give them a legit look. Then he has such intimate knowledge of Miami recruiting practices that he is able to determine there effort as second hand??? Please, fcking gayturds put him up to this **** to negatively recruit us. I can wait to play those fools next year!

This!!!!!

If you're done with them does that mean we can look forward to twice as much "real😬" talk from you going forward? Asking for a friend

We are hemorrhaging 5* talent TC, PS2, Dent, and Stevenson if miss. Yes even if they coach up players I will be willing to part ways because we only get to 6 if sprinkle in 5* elite talent here and there.

And btw I think our DB class was solid last year but 2 were legacies and ivey was underrated. Hall was the only true victory. Now look at this cycle Steele, Elam, Battle, n seemingly Stevenson are all leaning somewhere else.

All the Rumph supporters were arguing with me at the beginning of cycle watch when he pulls Steele and Elam. Well im watching guys and where do we stand?

Case in point a kid like Bandy. Yeah he was a little salty the offer came late, but he realized **** it's what I wanted all along so just move on.

I'm pretty sure you're thinking of Divaad Wilson that had conflicts with our class....unless it was both them. I know for sure Divaad had issues.
