There's always been "beef" between Dade and Broward. Dade cats were calling Broward cats the "cowards from Broward" back in the early 90's (and that's just as far back as I remember). Still, they came together at Miami. What's going on now is disappointing to say the least.

With that said, I like what Richt is doing. Hopefully he wins on the field enough during the present to see the fruits of his labor in the future. There's a reason he's hitting up all of the parks where the young kids play. That's going to pay dividends down the road.

Guys it was a long shot. We took it. We didnt hit a homerun. If you are mad at Jeudy, Tweed, Jeudy's family, Richt, Miami staff then you are all up in your feelings.

The narrative will change on the board today.

Instead of being mad at JJ and Tweed, it will be anger at CMR. Why is he trying to get a recruit that was never coming to Miami? Now we have lost out on all these wideouts . . . Should have cut ties with JJ and gone after players XYZ.

Does that sound about right?

Crazy thinking around here . . .

How does a South Florida kid say that his heart is in TusKKKaloosa, Alabama? I would feel like a failure as a parent if my kids told me that their hearts are in a place they've been to for a week in their lives, and turned their backs on the area where they grew up.

Bad parenting. This is what happens when "advisers" become too parental. Kids who are born and raised in deep South Florida say their hearts are in the racist hotbed of TusKKKaloosa.

But hey, it's all about loyalty and relationships...... The minute someone steps foot in TusKKKaloosa, they immediately become welcomed like a long lost child.

YEAH this might be the dumbest thing I've heard on this site. We've had as many legends from Broward as Dade, past and present.

Irvin and Blades (all of em) are Broward for god sakes. Howard, Hurns and Dorsett. stop making dumb **** up.

callmetrip go up to a kid in Broward and ask them if they know who beanie blades is...not a single one of them would know who he is or care

Bullshyt. Bennie runs the facilities at Joseph C. Carter Park on Sunrise, just east of I-95 and a lot of kids know who Bennie is.

I know he does. In all seriousness though, go up to someone like Jerry Jeudy and ask if they know who Bennie is and how much he meant to past hurricanes teams...I promise they wouldn't know who he is

And ask him the same question about Cornelius Bennett and you'll get the same reaction.

Talk to these local kids about Major Ogilvy and see what they say. LOL at this Zbrod anecdote about local kids not knowing Canes from the 80s as some proof that they're anti-Cane.

Can't blame a kid for not being loyal to a program that was never loyal to him or to those he cares about.

Recruiting is about relationships, NOT money, NOT rings, NOT (insert some BS), its 100% about relationships.

Richt is doing a good job of repairing those relationships on the coaching side of recruiting, we just need the players that all the youngsters look up to now.

So, if UM wasn't loyal to the kid, or those he cares about (whoever that may be?), and he didn't have enough of a relationship to select UM, why did he spend 48 hours at UM? Am I supposed to believe that the relationships that didn't exist and lack of loyalty were going to be, or could have been, overcome in a 48 hour visit in which he received the red carpet treatment and tons of attention and love from everyone associated with the program?

I appreciate your information and insight, but I'm not buying that his choice came down to "relationships" or "loyalty."

Ibiz. U ignoring that it was going to be in home only. ..then overnight...then 48 hours. At each step it was progressive from never to we are at the table. How, from this logical progression do you arrive at a different conclusion other than he stated true to the decision he made months ago despite the siren song of a new enchantress?

Not mad at CMR at all, but **** Jeudy with an aids infested knife.

Broward County isn't Canes Country??? This thread has officially:

You guys aren't acting as if you don't understand how relationships work.

If your choosing between two women, most would choose the one that your most comfortable with giving all other variables are equal.

Until we win these battles, we will not be elite. Not the end of the world missing on him, but **** does it suck.

Like chise said it's bad parenting, there's no way in **** do I let my kid play in Alybamy. We take dem duffles and sign the papers for UM what they gone do tell the NCAA the tried to bribe us.

That's not the cause of frustration. Relentless pursuit of premier local talent is the minimum expectation for a coach making $4 million per year. The nonsensical "we only want kids that want to be Canes" mentality of settling for mostly three-star recruits keeps you in 7-8 win purgatory. We're never going to make a leap as a program without blue-chippers from our backyard staying home.

The issue isn't limited to Jeudy. We've struck out on every single one of our top WR targets when we should be benefiting from the first-year recruiting bump. And we're now in a situation where we're losing Njoku/Coley to the NFL, Richards is going to get doubled constantly, and we're looking at guys like Dayall Harris and Braxton Berrios primed to get significant burn. Disaster.

Here's where I disagree I chose the girl I was most comfortable with and the batch stole 10 g's from me when I was in Iraq. You choose the one that poses the best future for you.

if we can start winning 10 games a year it will help in recruiting battles like that. And while I agree we need kids like Juedy to challenge programs like Bama year in and year out, we can get to that ten win mark that will allow us to win these recruiting battles with the type of kids we are getting. Golden wasn't stocking the cupboards with recruits like him, and we still aren't that far from winning the Coastal and challenging for an ACC title. We need to see what Richt can do with a full roster. We played this year with 75 scholarship players on the roster. It's not a stretch to think that can make a game or two difference in our record.

Playing in Alabama is turning kids who grew up with nothing into millionaires. I don't even think I need to bring up recent draft #'s.

Playing in Akron can turn you into a millionaire. How long do those players last in the league in comparison to ours.

Jerry Jeudy isn't the problem, he's merely a symptom of the problem. There are a lot of grifters here, and it's ******* sickening.

BTW, Broward was 305 until August 1, 1996, and I think Palm Beach County was also 305 prior to that time.

Shhhhh. Let all these South Florida experts regale us with how Broward is "different" and not really part South Florida. Let them tell us how if you're standing in Aventura but step over into Hallandale you're no longer in Canes country.

What other variables do you speak of?

* The person he looks up to plays for 'Bama
* The coach who recruited the person you look up to is recruiting you
* The team that has been recruiting you since 10th grade, just happens to be the best team in the country
* Seeing the person you look up to wearing a NC ring has a big impact
* Seeing the person you look up to with a potential 1st round draft grade has a huge impact on you

These are just a few variables................

Variables are equal?????? thats some dumb **** right there. Zero variables are equal here. Bama is on top of the football world and he committed to trying to make them the greatest college team ever. Miami has struggled for over a decade and he could have committed to staying home and taking down that Klan organization. Instead of betting on his home team and being a local legend, he chose to be a piece of the machine that is already in place. He took the easy route. **** aint about money or relationships. **** his ***** ***
