Can't blame a kid for not being loyal to a program that was never loyal to him or to those he cares about.

Recruiting is about relationships, NOT money, NOT rings, NOT (insert some BS), its 100% about relationships.

Richt is doing a good job of repairing those relationships on the coaching side of recruiting, we just need the players that all the youngsters look up to now.

So are you saying this is about Golden and his staff? Richt and Co. seemed to have been on this kid from the beginning and showed him the love or "relationship" making him a priority. It was noted somewhere along the line in this thread I believe, that Jerry trusts only about 5 people and Dugans is one of them. To me that is 100% relationship.

Recruits, current players and former player stepped up to build a relationship. UM is known for being a family. He had ties (relationships) to the team. Something just does not seem right. Not to the fact that he is going to Bama, it was going to be a hard pull, just that it was all relationships based.

Now, if your $aying hi$ coach, or po$$ibly a handler had $take in the game, and that wa$ the relation$hip, then I under$tand.

Very ,very, very few decisions in this world are 100% about one thing and one thing only. Life just isn't that cut and dried.

Relationships are important and in many cases may be the deciding factor but are far from the only thought stirring in a high schoolers mind when he decides where to attend.

Sam Bruce was extremely popular in Broward. Duke Johnson was a big name too. Idk who it is in 2018 that's a must get.

What about Trajan bandy? I thought he was supposed to be that guy.

So, if UM wasn't loyal to the kid, or those he cares about (whoever that may be?), and he didn't have enough of a relationship to select UM, why did he spend 48 hours at UM? Am I supposed to believe that the relationships that didn't exist and lack of loyalty were going to be, or could have been, overcome in a 48 hour visit in which he received the red carpet treatment and tons of attention and love from everyone associated with the program?

I appreciate your information and insight, but I'm not buying that his choice came down to "relationships" or "loyalty."

Guys it was a long shot. We took it. We didnt hit a homerun. If you are mad at Jeudy, Tweed, Jeudy's family, Richt, Miami staff then you are all up in your feelings.

The narrative will change on the board today.

Instead of being mad at JJ and Tweed, it will be anger at CMR. Why is he trying to get a recruit that was never coming to Miami? Now we have lost out on all these wideouts . . . Should have cut ties with JJ and gone after players XYZ.

Does that sound about right?

Crazy thinking around here . . .

Loyalty may or may not have been the best choice of wording. What do you expect him to say? Do you not think JJ has a better relationship with the BAMA staff than Miami's? I don't get it. Golden was a disaster after Shannon, another disaster, after Coker who ended a dynasty . . . JJ wouldnt have visited with Golden here. **** it may have been the death of his sister that even got him here ultimately.

Therefore you can't kick a kid like Sam Bruce off who has a ton a influence in south Florida. These coaches and handlers remember how you treat their kids... and hold grudges too

Yeah. Appreciate all the nuggets and insight but choice was about being loyal?!

So Richt didn't spend enough time recruiting a local Kid committed to a school that notoriously doesn't allow visits to other programs, and it was Miami's lack of loyalty that sealed the deal for Tuskkkaloosa?

Sorry but Loyalty is a two way street. Miami might've stopped at a point when the other party was headed the other direction, but Miami never turned around. **** that.

I'm anxiously awaiting what 2017 Miami freshmen will be named All Americans

Bama recruits, wherever they're from, represent the 205 now

Not saying I disagree, in fact I don't. Many things effect recruiting and unlike the OP, money, and rings do influence where a player will go. Not saying in this case, but it will. It has been debated on these boards way too much, so I will not get in to it, but it goes back to 5* players flocking to a school like Ole Miss.

The whole relationship thing needs to be looked at as well because the OC at Bama is now gone. Who knows if Satan, Mario and ... will be at Bama next year and beyond. Same with player connections. I understand these kids are sold dreams, and the coach that does the best job wins the prize. Don't have an issue with it, but the players need to realize it is a business and relationships can turn at the drop of a dime.

I am nowhere near an insider. I just cannot believe Richt and Co. were not loyal to him and those he cared about, unless caring involved extra benefits. Again, if it was Golden that was the issue, then I understand, but I would hope the player and family could look at the current staff for who they are, and not hold the past against them, isn't that what a relationship is all about?

Anyway, good luck to the kid, and thanks to Tweed for trying.

ESPN list named 3 yesterday - AR, Shaq and Pinkney. This shît's changing already.

"Relationships" or "Loyalty" when coupled with "Saban" are oxymorons.

Broward kids don't feel loyalty to Miami...we claim Ft. Lauderdale more than Miami...just saying

UM was the hometown team for just about everybody in Broward unless you had familial allegiance to UF or fsu or were from davie.

YEAH this might be the dumbest thing I've heard on this site. We've had as many legends from Broward as Dade, past and present.

Irvin and Blades (all of em) are Broward for god sakes. Howard, Hurns and Dorsett. stop making dumb **** up.

callmetrip go up to a kid in Broward and ask them if they know who beanie blades is...not a single one of them would know who he is or care

Bullshyt. Bennie runs the facilities at Joseph C. Carter Park on Sunrise, just east of I-95 and a lot of kids know who Bennie is.
But they don't know who Beanie Blades is.

How can someone from South Florida opt for an SEC school???

What percent of the signing bonus is from Klansmen?

How can a Floridian opt to play for a Southern school. It makes ZERO sense. These people are the dregs of American society. The South is America's 3rd world.... I spent 4 years in Atlanta and it was the Dukes of Hazzard.... Most backwards, racist and illiterate area in the nation! Atlanta makes Alabama look like Palisaides......

That is the definition of privilege. South Florida racist as **** too. I grew up and live here. Work in downtown Miami. Lived in NC and Tally. The level of racism here is crazy. Just look at how segregated south Florida neighborhoods are.

LOL@"loyalty" and Satan in the same sentence. Ask SBB or the myriad of other busts he flushed out of that program how loyal Satan is.

Segregation in Miami is mostly economic today.

I want one of these South Florida ELITE (can't miss players)...just one, to start calling these guys out for leaving home and putting on for Tallahassee, Tuscaloosa, Gainesville, Columbus, etc...(Thats what SAVAGES do!!!) These guys need to be more like DJ Dallas. Every year it seems like our more vocal guys are often the out of state recruits. But anyways, Go Canes!

*Al Blades Jr...Sounds like the perfect guy to start calling these guys out. (well, he needs to re-commit first, lol)

How does a South Florida kid say that his heart is in TusKKKaloosa, Alabama? I would feel like a failure as a parent if my kids told me that their hearts are in a place they've been to for a week in their lives, and turned their backs on the area where they grew up.

Bad parenting. This is what happens when "advisers" become too parental. Kids who are born and raised in deep South Florida say their hearts are in the racist hotbed of TusKKKaloosa.
