George, X, B Smith, Redding are back
Add Young, Harrell, freshmen

The biggest difference will be the OL and running game. When you can get yards on the ground, they won't be able to drop 8.
Also, Gattis offense was about as predictable and vanilla as it gets. The scheme wasn’t designed to get WRs open. That’s what I’m hoping Dawson’s scheme helps with. Scheming our guys open.

I was told “we’re going vertical” with TVD… is that not the case?

I’d be shocked if Miami doesn’t average 32-35 pass attempts per game. Last year at Houston (with less talent at QB) Dawson threw on average 39 times per game.
I think we will take our deep shots way more but i think people took beard saying that out of context. I think he was coaching a drill, basically saying sell like you’re going vertical then break down. Im surprised people really thought he was talking about the offense,

Our drops and scheme didn’t make their secondary’s lives too difficult.
Parrish probably walks into the endzone if he catches the pass that bounced off his chest.

One of my former 7v7 players was telling me how Gattis lit into Brashard after the game for running that route 2 yards too deep at the end of the game. Valid because he's turned around and squared up to catch the ball if he ran it at the right depth. I defended it at that point blaming the players not knowing how to run routes and the depth of it and what option to take based on certain coverages, etc.

Then as the year went on I saw how obvious it was that it wouldn't work and they'll never get it. What he wanted to do was essentially pro-level route concepts and using option routes that are dictated based on pre-snap reads and then what happens in the coverage post snap. Too many moving parts and too complicated for college kids with limited hours around a coaching staff. Not even mentioning the fact that he couldn't coach what he wanted worth a F.

Run/Pass ratio is overrated af. What really matters is how creative the passing game is and how functional the offense is as a whole.
Exactly gotta marry them together, all the top ocs everyone loves run the ball alot they just leverage it into big plays in the passing game
