Hartline will be there on early signing day. Zero chance they let him go anywhere until then unless he has another alcoholic adventure on his Razr.
1mur has said something differently. Don’t know the exact timeline, but you would think they would make the future plans clear before kids sign dotted line…. Yet this is OSU so who knows 😂

I remember some stat afterwards it was like the first or 2nd time in the last 20 years a team that had the stat difference we did lost the game? It was something insane. We had like 25 first downs and didn't score a touchdown LMAO
It's why explosive plays on offense are way more important that converting third downs consistently. People get way too excited about 3rd down conversion statistics. Yes, converting on third downs is great. Yes, nobody wants to go three and out. But formulating an entire offense around controlling the ball and the clock at the expense of chunk yardage plays is offensive suicide. The hardest thing for an offense to do is to execute perfectly for 10-12 straight plays. It's college football. Even the best units are going to have a blown assignment here and there. That's how you end up with a game like we had against A&M where we moved the ball and dominated possession but scored zero touchdowns. Your margin for error is so slim when you're only getting 4-5 yards at a time, you need to be perfect to actually score. One 50 yard play > Ten 5 yard plays. Even when you're out-executing your opponent (vs A&M last year) all it takes is one big play to completely unravel an entire quarter of dominant play. You can totally shut down the opponent's offense and put together long drives that end in field goals and all it takes is a muffed punt that gets picked up and returned by the opponent to be losing the game.

He thinks he's gone before signing day? I've heard there's something brewing up there but they'll keep him around until guys sign on the dotted line and pretend it's not happening.

Into 2024... not surprised at all if he's gone for disciplinary reasons or to the NFL.

This is what everybody does. What we did with DVD last year

This ain’t the old days where we could wait until a kid is signed and locked in to pull that ****

He goes anywhere after this kid signs he is entering the portal if he was already enrolled and asking for a release from his NLI if it’s in Feb

Don’t think so, our coaches were very up front that Gattis would not be here tbh.

As for DVD, different situation. He wasn’t let go or had plans on moving… he had his job, just wasn’t getting promotion he wanted.

I'd prefer we have a 0% 3rd down conversion rate for the season.

0/0 on 3rd down would be fine with me. Score a TD on every drive before you get to a 3rd down.

True. But he did have the FIU job lined up and didn't announce it until after the second signing day

This is worth watching and proves your point. TXAM was excellent in coverage the whole game. Every throw vs TXAM here

TVD wasn’t comfortable in that offense and had zero rapport with Gattis. That stuff makes a difference. No way a guy goes off similar to Joe Burrow one year and the next can’t even complete a pass.

No shade on A&M but until they changed the offense in the UNC game, TVD was a shell of his 2021 self.

Smith will be at Miami’s home games against Texas A&M and Clemson. He knows his teammates Joshisa Trader and Zaquan Patterson will be trying to get him to join him in Coral Gables.

“See how they play, the offense, scheme wise, that’s what I want to see,” he said of what’s next with the Hurricanes.

Similar to Air Noland, Smith has clicked with Gators quarterback commit DJ Lagway, who had a monster game to open his senior campaign.

“That’s a big part,” Smith said. “Florida I know they have a great quarterback in my class coming in DJ Lagway. Ohio State got Air, Miami I don’t know his name, Florida State I think his name Luke. I’m looking at them guys for sure.”
