Cause they been losing little battles on the trail for a few years and that hurts you in those types of games. If Bain was on fsu that makes a huge difference. I’m always going to say it’s about players always has been always will be. They won’t get lightfoot and Scott, that’s big time and screws them really bad.
They’ve had a top 5 class every year since 2019 when they had the 7th ranked class.

To say losing a high school player is a bigger loss than losing to michigan is one of the craziest takes I’ve seen on this site.

The recruiting impact of them losing 3 straight to michigan completely outweighs one player flipping. The perception of their program has negatively been impacted because of these losses, they’ve lost faith in Day.

It’s a chicken and an egg. The chicken was losing to michigan. The egg is the players flipping

When u look at their tears u can see the fans in the know is that they are missing on a lot of targets recently. I don’t follow them close but usually there is some truth from those logical fans. They don’t seem like the juggernaut on the trail as they used to be regardless of rankings.

Check their class, they are absolute juggernauts on the trail. They lost a top 10 player and didn’t even slip a spot. Their previous 3 classes were ranked 4,4 and 2. Their problem is coaching right now, and it has been. Outside of WR and DB they haven’t been maximizing their talent. And now it looks like they may have wasted a generational talent in Stroud.

Can somebody explain what I’m missing here? All his boys are coming here. Our receivers made a huge jump this year in this offense. The program as a whole is looking up. He has the opportunity to break the internet and be a certified city legend by coming here. On top of all that, a fat NIL deal in the best city to have money. Let’s go Mario turn up the heat!!!
The fan in me would love to know the exact same thing. The objective thinker I am concurs as well.

I'm sure Jeremiah will have a great career - but he's told us 9 ways from Sunday he's not coming here. Losing him is not some sort of barometer...
you don't need to tell people you're not coming 9 different ways if you just actually say "I'm not coming". But you keep reading between the lines and tell me what 3D images pop up when you stick your thumb out and squint.

They do have a problem. Their classes havent been balanced. The class can be ranked highly but u got 4 top 100 WRs, a top 30 QB but the OL are meh and they are getting stuffed for DL. Thats why Michigan been pushing them around. Classes are ranked highly but unbalanced and yes they can win 11 games but the games that matter choke job. And they have looked poor in alot of games throughout the season.

'I'm never coming back'

This year there is some unbalance but a bunch of that is losing Scott. They still have Houston on the edge and in their previous classes they addressed the trenches just fine. Their issue is that they aren’t performing and I keep saying it’s that coaching isn’t quite as good. It doesn’t mean Day is trash it’s just he doesn’t appear to be one of the best as was the case with Urban.

Yall always hyping up the next recruit like the be all end all. No he is not, he is an elite player but we also got other elite players. Whats more hard to get WRs or elite DL? We got Bain and just flipped Scott. Its not about getting one player, its getting a bunch of them together
Exactly. Ohio St got the best wr in the country but they can't beat Michigan because of the trenches

Are they missing DL guys cause it seemed like the fans were saying their DL coach was missing a lot of targets. They almost sound like day fans saying “the portal will save us” lol. I’m thinking to myself like wtf this is OsU fans?

Are they not performing or were they overrated or what? They dont have that dominance in the trenches and its on both sides of the ball. Apparently their fans are cold on Larry Johnson who they were blowing when they got Scott and thought Stewart was next.

Ehhhh, Michigan has won because of their advantage in the trenches but it goes deeper than that. In 2021, it was a snow game and Wilson and Olave were neutralized a bit by that. Last year, now Michigan outright punched them in the mouth in the trenches and Taint folded. Not to mention, Harbaugh surprised many by letting McCarthy hit them deep taint was getting gashed and they were selling out to stop the run. This year, it was a close game but the problem was that McCord just ain’t it.

On paper you would think Taint would dominate but Michigan has made up serious ground with their evals in the trenches, but it’s not the reason Taint can’t beat them.

You just said what I said you just took a longer route.

I don’t follow the team closet enough, but I’d imagine it’s a bit of both. Larry Johnson is old and I think people forget that what Bama has done isn’t normal. Most dominant programs start to slip after a couple of years. It’s hard to stay relevant all the time.

Right now it’s not looking good, but before Scott decommitted they had a top 5 DT and top 5 Edge committed. They were salty they missed on Stewart to a **** SCjr team which was the root of the *****ing. They don’t usually lose those types of battles.

Yeah, just think the context is needed. 22 was the only real year where Michigan’s advantage in the trenches was an advantage and even there Taint’s DC holds a ton of blame in that loss.

Lightfoot hurt them and Scott their fan base reaction seems like they do not like their DL recruiting
