Jayden Maiava to UGA now to USC

We can talk all day long about the hypothetical players that can enter the portal, but there is very little the staff can do until they enter. It’s all fantasy and wishful thinking until they actually enter. The only clips you saw from the A&M where the twitter trolls put on this thread of his picks from those games. How about you watch some film before you comment lol
There you go making assumptions. I didn't look at any twitter clips or clips in this thread. I watched parts of UCLA and A&M. I said that before. I'm watching ND now after another poster provided a link to the full game vs highlights.

I don't see TVD at all. He's a much different type of QB. He can move.
Strictly with his carelessness with turnovers… let’s be honest this defense isn’t taking a meteoric rise next year no matter who the DC is so we cannot lean on them if we are losing the turnover battle weekly…

A smart QB who can’t just feed the playmakers and let the run game not see such a stacked box is almost all we can hope for

I don't disagree with you on principle. But we had ONE OPTION last year too, and it was Cam Ward. Worked out well.

And Mateer was not a long shot.

I'm not a big fan of Gamblin' Mario, but what our choices right now?
Curious why you say Mateer wasn't a long shot

I couldn't disagree more. We simply don't have a talented enough team to settle for a game manager. That's a recipe for the same end result as what you're assuming will happen with a turnover prone QB. It's a pervasive problem on both sides of the ball. The defense will more than likely be improved but it won't be dominant...which is another thing you need for a game manager type to work.

We need at least some type of upside back there and you have to hope Dawson can coach up and scheme around it.

You want to argue that the fact my first statement is true in YEAR FOUR of the Mario experiment is Mario's fault? Sure...that's fair. However at this point I'll stick to my guns, I'd rather take a chance on a kid like this than bring in a Mendoza type.

You have zero clue what you're talking about.

That can’t be a serious question without knowing who may become available.

I am judging it based on who has been or who is available in the portal and the fact we don’t have a QB.

Bright kid whom reads defenses very well, plus arm and plus accuracy. Good feet in the pocket.

Did more with less in terms of weapons, OL and team.

I wasn't particularly impressed when he played Miami, even against our undisciplined and poorly prepared secondary. I saw someone who had several long runs on short passes and benefited from busted coverages. He doesn't possess the ability to elevate our offense to a degree commensurate with all the hand-wringing.

We can agree to disagree though.

Besides trying to get a hold of his agent and throwing around hypothetical numbers, what else can you really do? You can’t bring him on campus, you can’t review film with him, you can’t let him interact with current players. Criticizing Mario for not getting a kid to enter the portal so outright stupid

Contacting an agent and offering money is literally 90% of the recruiting battle out of the portal. Most of the other 10% is actually proving you can offer that money.

Again, you and many others overreact with this tampering lol

It's not tampering. It's legal for coaches and universities to reach out to agents. That's why it's happening literally everywhere across the country.

Jayden per game stats spread over a full 12 game season.

3,576 Total Yards 45 Total TDs 18INTs
He would have to work on ball security but otherwise looks pretty good. We know SD knows how to scheme guys wide open so maybe those INTs naturally go down.

All speculation of course since there is no evidence he has entered the portal.

I figured that was the implication but we've seen plenty of kids who take less for a situation they like better. Not EVERY kid makes it about the cash.

Big presumption to think he could be bought when his coaches were known to be going to Oklahoma
The caveman does not have a full functioning brain yet, he bangs his head against the wall when things aren’t going his way.

He played really well for a true Fr at UNLV . Last year he got very loose with the ball. Throwing picks like a mad man. He’s talented but high risk high reward
