Jason Taylor joining staff in off-field role

I can’t remember if Linder was before Dorsett or around the same time. It doesn’t seem like he was after Dorsett, but maybe. It’s all a blur to me. But Relly is right about Blades -completely forgot about him. Somebody said Bruce, but come on he don’t count.

I probably shouldn’t even be talking about STA, when I can be complaining about American Heritage
The most recent name we got from there is Avery Huff. I know he hasn't done much so far here but he was a pretty highly regarded prospect.

But you're correct about Heritage. People think STA has some kind of anti-UM bias and I don't know if that's true or not but we've signed way more STA kids than we have Heritage kids. The only Heritage kid who came here was Nesta.

AH is easy to remember because it’s Nesta and nobody else - at least for a decade.

One of my employees is on the baseball coaching staff at AH and he recently told me that when players are half assing their push-ups, the head coach yells at them to "stop doing Miami Hurricane push-ups". No idea if their football coaches have the same perception.

Might have already been said but this hire speaks to how much confidence Mario has in himself more than anything else. Alot of coaches wouldn't touch Taylor for no other reason than wanting to be the biggest name and biggest star on the team. Mario not only hired Taylor but hired him off field. Incredible. Mario is an Alpha and no name is to big for his staff. I love it.

This means nothing to me. When STA kids still choose Bama and OSU over us don't start crying talmbout "bububut Jason Taylor!!!!" South Florida kids are still gonna be South Florida kids.

Mario should evaluate wisely locally, but he still needs to use his best skill and bring in national kids.

the importance of that picture is not only that JT is joining the staff and is at the IPF, but that Kosar is there, which evidences the old players coming back, a change in policy for the program from the previous regime.
Kosar is an emeriti member of the UM board of trustees

While that's likely all true, I think the original sentiment still stands that we were missing out on quite a few blue-chippers that weren't even putting us on their radar. I believe the original sentiment and your reasons can both be true.

Not saying both can't be true, but I am also trying though to not make this just about the Manure era with STA

We’ve never pulled the elites from sta, bosa brothers or the Jordan battles of the top of my head atm hopefully that changes now.

I think never in the modern era is a bit of a stretch (Linder, Dorsett were All Americans if I remember correctly) but I think its that those most recent blue chippers were more so in the categories outlined.

Also importantly, Taylor will be our inside link to STA which has been feeding Ohio St over the years.

Our link is the AD at ST THOMAS whom is TWAN RUSSELL Full blooded Cane.

JT doesnt have the pull like that for the local mercenaries. But he will be a real beast for the national guys and families coming down.

We have ALWAYS have Canes on the coaching staff at OSU and George Smith was very cane friendly
