Jason Taylor joining staff in off-field role

Brandon Linder, told Urban to kick rocks.
Pretty sure Al Blades Jr went to STA & was a solid 4 star.

I can’t remember if Linder was before Dorsett or around the same time. It doesn’t seem like he was after Dorsett, but maybe. It’s all a blur to me. But Relly is right about Blades -completely forgot about him. Somebody said Bruce, but come on he don’t count.

I probably shouldn’t even be talking about STA, when I can be complaining about American Heritage

@1murhurricane says the Brown recruiting situation is no longer as bleak as it was. Looks like Mario and Strong are fixing the mess Manny left.

No doubt. Things have completely turned around with a lot of recruitments.

The State of Florida is by far the richest talent crop for the class of ‘23, yet, I don’t recall any STA players on the radar this class. Maybe @Liberty City El, @Coach Macho, or @gogeta4 know of some that I can’t think of or maybe a sleeper to keep an eye on from STA
This staff will recruit on it's own merit. Kids from everywhere and anywhere will look at this staff and say Dayum, I want to be there with those guys.

Do we start #AkronTears or #ZipsTears? Any chance this guy is next in an "off-field" QB coach...errr....analyst role and we can start in-conference #PittTears?

He was a great wide receiver for the Gaytors...had a 92 yard TD catch against Bama...also caught the game-winner in the Gaytor Bowl...then a knee injury wrecked his career...after that, he got drafted and went to Vietnam...

[and, yes, I realize it's a picture of Dan Marino]

The narrative about STA on this board is incorrect IMO in regards to needing a "plug."

As I believe @gogeta4 has said, we have generally gotten the guys we have targeted from there (e.g. in last 10 years Linder(s), Hamilton, Huff, Blades, Dorsett and Harley) who do not fall in one of the below three categories:

1) Mercenaries / Front-runners - We normally never get the one year guys, whether there are in state or from out of state; or those that are just going to blue bloods because they think they should given where they play high school ball
2) Loyal to another school / coach before recruiting even starts i.e. the Bosa rule
3) Mind-numbing mistakes that are about evaluation / beta recruiting - Asante Samuel, Jordan Battle, etc.

It's not that STA has a bias against UM, its that they have a bias against a crappy on-field product and inept coaches. They know what winning looks like. Regardless of Jason Taylor (who is a high-upside hire pretty much no matter what), Mario fixing UM improves our chances at STA just like it does anywhere else (though #1 on the list will always be somewhat of an issue).
We’ve never pulled the elites from sta, bosa brothers or the Jordan battles of the top of my head atm hopefully that changes now.

Please that ship has sailed. We got lawyers for days.

What happened to the inquiry with King’s NIL deal? Ruiz basically told the NCAA to bring it.

The same stuff Bama does we’ll be doing too. You can’t play scared while these other schools get a competitive advantage by dancing right on the line.
Mario apprenticed, studied and knows the Saban moves, **** he was Saban's right arm in many ways.....
Mario is not scared, and the way we are being positioned with JT, the pub with this move is huge.
It keeps the Canes on everyone's lips until Spring practice... and it is a super positive vibe...for us, locally, and National news.
All upside..
