Jai Lucas set to become next men’s basketball coach

Except the national media/those that actually follow the sport disagree with you completely

No. No they don’t.

Besides, if the national media were so great at hiring head coaches, they would be ADs.

But, hey, the national media is GREAT at hyping up the flavor of the month.

The real problem here is that you don’t have an independent, informed thought in your head. You just troll basketball websites. Everything you falsely claim to “know about the game” is regurgitated from other people who actually know something.

I was mocking them
At this point, I've lost the ability to laugh at this disaster, so I apologize for missing the sarcasm. It's frustrating watching a train wreck in slow motion, and knowing that it could all be avoided, or at the least, mitigated. Jai Lucas isn't a bad person(that I know of), but there's no way to justify him being the head basketball coach at the University of Miami, especially seeing how many quality coaches are out there. Miami should NEVER hire a first time HC. EVER.

How many times are the Lucas slurpers going to respond with that in this thread?

Please enlighten me as I’m open to changing my opinion. WHY do you (or any of his other strict supporters like @cookies ) believe this was a good hire? Or one of the best hires we could possibly make? I’m seriously still trying to figure that out. Is it the “elite recruiter” angle? The “family bloodlines”?
There are two of us and y’all act like we’re the army, better yet the navy. You guys act like we kidnapped your baby.

My last post in here was about Xavier circling back to Chris Mack.

Yall literally tagged me because mentioning my name wasn’t enough to get me to reply back

disappointed the wire GIF

Infinite. Or as many times as @JZCane0825 and @cookies choose to post. Whichever number is higher.
When 26 bumped this thread, I replied because him and I were having a separate, concurrent discussion in another thread.

The conversation was over in less than 5 posts. JZ didn’t even reply to 26.

I gave him his respect because he delineated his position. I did not drag it out or make it personal. We kept it simple & on the subject at hand.

Weird behavior from @Gables Canes and yourself to keep this ish going.

What a crybaby you two are.

Multiple threads (including this one, which is at 31 pages), you and your butt-buddy @JZCane0825 were repetetively ripping anyone who disagreed with you, slamming any coaching candidate not named "Jai Lucas" and serving as the sole "like" on each other's posts.

Now you're trying to recede into the background and you're angry that people point out your posting history. As if you can control when we mention you.

Grow up and grow a pair. You and @JZCane0825 invested in countless posts white-knighting for Jai Lucas when most of us chose to express our reservations with YEARS of terrible UM coaching searches. Go cry somewhere else.

how long are you going to mope for is the bigger question I have. The amount of prepubescent estrogen you secrete in each post is truly impressive

Dudes are mad we are happy about hoops lol
Dude, you haven’t been around for most of the season nor most of the previous years. It’s amazing how fans like yourself are excited about what is an underwhelming hire because “Duke”. Like a lot of our fans, if this doesn’t work out, you’ll go right back to ignoring the program like you did before.

For us that have been here, through the good times and bad, we know crap when we see it. Rad is treating basketball like a stepchild, the rest of the ACC wants to get better, we straight up punted. The ONLY school to fail this terribly at hiring is FSU and they have significant financial constraints.

If that's the case, why has our budget for basketball nearly tripled YoY?

Duke fans would be my guess.

No one in their right mind believes this was the best hire we could possibly have made. Outside of Will Wade, who wound up at a better basketball program than us anyways, would a sitting mid-major HC, who doesn't understand the intricacies of high-major basketball recruiting, maximize talent acquisition or put together a coaching staff the same way someone like Lucas will?

I'm honestly not so sure but I guess time will tell if I'm right or not.

Coach Jai is already installing a different work ethic.

Yep because Jim Larranaga and his staff were lazy and didn’t try to coach these guys up. Are you listening to yourself? I’m convinced L did something to you personally because there’s no way someone could have this kind of beef with a total stranger, it’s almost like his success bothers you.

Rad didn’t hire Jai and didn’t set the budget.

But man… Omier left because we didn’t have enough to pay him 1mm and fill the rest of the roster.

Kidd was a big we could afford. The whole roster was trying to fit pieces into the budget.

Imagine a team where the starters were each 1mm+ NIL guys. We didn’t have a single one.

It would have been nice to see what L could do with 8mm in NIL.

That and also a budget to where L could have upgraded his staff. Imagine L hiring Mike Brey to be his DC.

Same thing goes for the women’s side too. I’m convinced Katie retired because she knew that Rad and the boosters weren’t serious about supporting her program. She saw where the game was going.
