It was all so sudden.

The second this turned into a 12 team playoff, this became a SEC/Big X tournament. ESPN and SEC are running the show. The rest of us (ACC, Big 12, G5) are guests. You are delusional if you think Bama wasn’t going to get ahead of us. We knew this and blew it. It’s on us. Why are fans crying about this?

Soon, the SEC/Big X will create their own league and give a middle finger to the rest of the country.
Sec is so amazing that when uga and bama lost their cheating advantage a big 12 team came in and took the conference over.

JFC, some of you all really need an anti-depressant and Xanax. You expected 7 or 8 wins before the season. You got 10.

For some reason, during the "was it a completed hail mary" VT game or 25 point 3rd quarter comeback against Cal or first half struggles against USF, Duke, and Wake Forest, you deluded yourselves into thinking this was the 2001 team reborn. It's not. The worst back 7 on D in 50 years would bite it in the ***.....and did.

I'd say be happy for having a great season and outperforming expectations. Be ****ed about how the committee voted and how it bodes for the future of CFB. It's official, the ACC and Big XII are part of the G5. Their wins mean less and losses mean more than the SEC & B1G. Oh, and **** Bama and the SEC.

In August most of our posters said 10+ wins or better. Vegas odds were 9.5. The team achieved a number, hooray. We failed the objective.

That’s what’s still getting me. The whole season we’re riding high, despite some ups and downs. Best offense in the country, Heisman candidate and heavy favorite to make the playoff, even after the GT debacle. Then a week ago it all collapses and poof……season done. No playoff, no meaningful bowl game, no Heisman. All gone. Another November swoon. Add in an underwhelming recruiting class and we’re back to square one despite winning 10 games.

Going into this season we all knew this team would be far better than the previous years team. Now, it’s almost a certainty next years team will not be as good as this years, and that just sucks.

Meh.
If you looked deeper than the w/l column, it wasn’t all of a sudden.

SEC still the best conference, draw the best TV ratings and has ESPN help them run the show. It is what it is.

A stroke is sudden. What happened this season was about as sudden as the Egyptians building the Pyramids. If it hadn't fully set in by the GA Tech game that this team was softer than a cotton ball, I would invest in a new set of eyeballs.

Not really that sudden if you were watching the first few ACC games and saw this defense get lit up by VT and Cal...next year 7-5 will probably be considered a solid season by Mario and his cronies

It was absolute malpractice by the offensive staff. You had been gashing them with Martinez, JG, X, and Arroyo. You’re up 21-7 and you know your defense can’t stop a high school offense let alone the #1 passing attack in the country. So you sit Martinez from about 14 minutes left in the second to 7 minutes left in the 3rd. You target McCormick and Brown on that 4th drive and go with Lyle over Fletcher who had been running well too. I’ve never seen a coaching staff so willing to go away from what’s working and “try other things”.

I said in other threads that place was loud, like ear pain loud at times. You keep your 1’s out there to win. That 4th drive should have been the same mix as the first 3. Fletcher and Martinez should have had a combined 20-25 carries in that first half after the start we had. Even running plays that weren’t there were going for 4 yards. They went 10-65 with one of the runs being a 2 yard TD in the first half.

From 10:49 in the 2nd quarter we ran 7 plays and ate up about 3 minutes until halftime. That 4th and 5th drives should have been hammers. If we score in 2 minutes so be it but the goal should have been to eat clock and score. You go into the half up 35-14 and I guarantee that place would have been as quiet as church and probably emptied out in the 3rd if we matched their opening score.
I know it’s hard to criticize being one of the best offense in college football by most metrics but it’s cleared. Dawson completely loses it in the second quarter into the third. Nearly every ******* game.. Why? I get the defenses adjust and after several weeks of film have come up with better ways of defending our offense, but it’s his job as an offensive coordinator to counter. It’s also his job to keep the office fresh so that we don’t have so many tendencies. Not always easy mind you. No excuses, he gets paid a lot of money for this to do the job.

Instead he waits for Cam to play hero ball in the fourth quarter.

It might be heresy, but Cam bears some of this responsibility too. He’s the starting quarterback and responsible for the offense on the field. That’s why he gets the big NIL money as a Heisman Trophy candidate. He struggled with check downs until later in the year.

Oh well.

Looking forward to the pop tarts bowl?

This is why I'm on Mario's neck. If you're truly building a program, you shouldn't have to constantly rebuild your roster through the portal. You should have depth by year 4 ready to contend for a national championship. Alas, you still need a QB, a whole new secondary, D-Line depth, another linebacker, a center, and maybe a wide receiver or two. Like, what the **** has he been doing? We are nowhere close..

Yep..21 point lead too so it went from peak high to lowest low in like 2 quarters. Not even a CHANCE to play for the ACCCG which I just ASSUMED we'd finally win this year since we had the best QB in the country and the #1 offense.

It's been a tough pill to swallow.

I imagine it's been pretty devastating for Mario and the players as well. Especially the guys who are leaving.
Mario has 8 million reasons to feel nothing at all. He is taking this school and the administration for a ride. Shout out to his agent.
