Yep..21 point lead too so it went from peak high to lowest low in like 2 quarters. Not even a CHANCE to play for the ACCCG which I just ASSUMED we'd finally win this year since we had the best QB in the country and the #1 offense.

It's been a tough pill to swallow.

I imagine it's been pretty devastating for Mario and the players as well. Especially the guys who are leaving.

Yeah but this game was different because we were UP by 21 points pretty much right away. If felt like we finally had a fast start on offense AND defense and we were finally playing well on both sides of the ball right before going into the postseason.

Let's just face it this whole playoff system is rigged and if ACC doesn't have 2 undated teams going into the conference championship then the ACC will always get 1 team in. But the SEC and BIG can lost you name the number of games.

Why to some have to be perfect and some don't? People don't like affirmative action, but we need these types of safe guards in place to make it fair for all!!

I dislike Notre Dame, but they get the benefit of the doubt after the Northern Illinois upset because they ran the table and won many of their games by a good margin. **** Notre Dame.

Watch what happens when this current playoff format expires.

I would not be shocked if there was a postseason SEC-Big Ten invitational tournament and the winner was decapred the national champion, pimped by ESPN and Fox.

The ACC, Big 12, and the former PAC 12 made their bed have to lie in it. Neither of those conferences had any foresight in looking ahead to the future of college football. The SEC and the Big Ten did, do, and here we are.

I agree that it was predictable that Syracuse would give us a game and that variance would say we would lose another close one eventually. But it was still sudden to go from a comfortable three seed and bye in the playoffs for months to not even being part of the field in the final week

Don't care what they (ND) did after that lost....if you loose to a G4 school at home you are eliminated from the playoffs. If UM would gave list to Ball St. and ran the table there after, I bet the only way they make the CFP is if they won the ACC championship game!!

Part I disagree with is I think our overall team will be better this coming year. Our best players will be older and hopefully develop along with quality transfers.

But we are losing a LOT on O and because of all the close games, a lot of the guys we'll need a lot next year didn't get much PT this year (besides Lyle). It would have been nice to see Trader/Carr/Riley all get 20-30 catches.

We're losing:
QB
3 of 4 top receivers
Top TE
2 OL
Top RB

Pretty much every starter and significant contributor on offense except for 3 OL. This year we were in the exact same position except for on defense (lost 8 of our 11 top tacklers).

We are going to have to hit the portal hard and strike gold there especially at QB and in the secondary. No way this D will improve if Mario doesn't replace Guidry.

They are definitely gonna blow it up. Even though they weaseled in a 3 loss team, the SEC will not be happy that a team like SMU will get a first round bye over their mighty teams.

We finished 10-2 and we haven't done that for a long time.

The reason why it's all so deflating is that the SEC and BIG10 have cleaned up in recruiting. Their stranglehold on CFB just seems inevitable now.
 
Eh, losing the Heisman was orchestrated by ESPN and the rest of the media. There was no particular game that led to Cam being removed from the narrative. Instead they added other players like D Gabriel to fill the “he’s has a winning team slot” while leaving Hunter and Jeanty on there. Then they began removing him from the lists all together. At this point I’d be surprised if he even got an invite to NY which is a travesty.

I didn't get to watch the game until it was 21-7 with Syracuse about to score, so I probably don't have the same level of disappointment of others.
