It was all so sudden.

I didn't get to watch the game until it was 21-7 with Syracuse about to score, so I probably don't have the same level of disappointment of others.
When we went up 21-0, I knew the defense would eventually give up points but I thought it would end like 45-28 or something like that.

The fact we scored 21 points in 17 minutes of play and then only 17 points the next 43 minutes was devastating..when you include the offense GAVE UP 7 points as well, they only netted 10 points in nearly the final 3 quarters.

Just a shocking end to the season when we had scored so much all year.

Nah it was there. Ppl who pointed it out were called mopes for not blindly ignoring the issues and saying we could get tripped up
Lotta truth in this imo.

A win is a win. Survive and advance. 5-0, 6-0, 7-0, 8-0, 9-0. Cam will save us. We can score at will. You’re a mope. You’re a Gator. You’re a Nole.

That was all cool until it all fell apart. The moment Cam fumbled at GT it became win out or it will be a beauty contest. The judges like what they like.

I agree. We were basically penciled in as having a bye in the playoffs all season and now we aren’t even going.

**** you Guidry.

Lol let's not forget Cristobal

This idiot kicked…This idiot played D.Mart 33 snaps…Tyler Baron 15 snaps against a heavy throw team. With every thing on the line

Watching game day right now and seeing Saban break down the Georgia defense against Texas is disheartening. It’s like we are in a lower level of football on the defensive side of the ball. Our athletes and formations are a joke in comparison. With the offense regressing next year the gap between us and the top programs seems enormous and Mario makes up no ground in the coaching department.

The Canes may have overtaken the Dolphins as the worst part about living in South Florida. One kick to the nuts after another with no hope in sight.

It was absolute malpractice by the offensive staff. You had been gashing them with Martinez, JG, X, and Arroyo. You’re up 21-7 and you know your defense can’t stop a high school offense let alone the #1 passing attack in the country. So you sit Martinez from about 14 minutes left in the second to 7 minutes left in the 3rd. You target McCormick and Brown on that 4th drive and go with Lyle over Fletcher who had been running well too. I’ve never seen a coaching staff so willing to go away from what’s working and “try other things”.

I said in other threads that place was loud, like ear pain loud at times. You keep your 1’s out there to win. That 4th drive should have been the same mix as the first 3. Fletcher and Martinez should have had a combined 20-25 carries in that first half after the start we had. Even running plays that weren’t there were going for 4 yards. They went 10-65 with one of the runs being a 2 yard TD in the first half.

From 10:49 in the 2nd quarter we ran 7 plays and ate up about 3 minutes until halftime. That 4th and 5th drives should have been hammers. If we score in 2 minutes so be it but the goal should have been to eat clock and score. You go into the half up 35-14 and I guarantee that place would have been as quiet as church and probably emptied out in the 3rd if we matched their opening score.

Only part is it’s untrue that it’s almost certain next year’s team won’t be as good. Go back and check all the threads from the end of last season. The consensus was we’d be a 7 or 8 win team this year. **** can, and will, change very quickly. The rest I agree with. Weird to wake up today with no name and the season over when I was looking at trips to Charlotte and Atlanta a week ago.
Thread 'DAILY DEBATE: What is Miami’s final record this year?'
https://www.canesinsight.com/threads/daily-debate-what-is-miami’s-final-record-this-year.192530/

Most said 10-2, 11-1 or 9-3.

If we lose the bowl game, we'll have finished the season 1-3 with our lone win over Wake Forest.

That's a huge fall from being considered for a 2 or 3 seed for most of the season.

Start 9-0.
Finish 1-3.
Final record 10-3

It'll haunt me for a while...up 21-0, I thought we'd continue to run the ball, keep McCord off the field, and try to protect our defense.

Not crying just stating facts....but some of you so call UM fans are just as complacent as the SEC fans and the CFP committee members. Why do we have to win and others don't?

#not kidding
Because that's the way it is.

You want someone to blame?

Blame the ACC, Big 12, and PAC 12 conferences for incompetence. The SEC and B1G played the long game, poaching programs and expanding while the rest were negotiating inferior TV deals. Blame the UM administration for being content with mediocre football for 20 seasons. We might be in SEC or B1G right now had Miami remained truly nationally relevant, a multiple ACC champion and annual CFP contender, and forward thinking leadership.

Instead Miami slipped to a poverty program trying to play catch up, on the outside looking in, crying life isn't fair.

This day and age bowl games are irrelevant. They’re as meaningful as the first scrimmage in the spring. We’re 10-2 on the season. That’s how I look at it.

Ok. Well then we finished the season 1-2 with a win over Wake Forest and losses to GT and Syracuse and then played in a meaningless bowl game.

A far cry from a possible 2-3 seed and playing a conference championship game, a 2nd round playoff game and maybe beyond.

See that's it!! Why it's got to be about fair....**** fair, how bout being consistent!! How bout doing the right thing and not the wrong thing!! These kids worked hard all year long to be appreciated for the effort they displayed, for the right outcome to be rewarded!!

I agree that it was predictable that Syracuse would give us a game and that variance would say we would lose another close one eventually. But it was still sudden to go from a comfortable three seed and bye in the playoffs for months to not even being part of the field in the final week
Because you let the win column leading to the 3 seed blind your vision of how poor the actual product really was
