That’s what’s still getting me. The whole season we’re riding high, despite some ups and downs. Best offense in the country, Heisman candidate and heavy favorite to make the playoff, even after the GT debacle. Then a week ago it all collapses and poof……season done. No playoff, no meaningful bowl game, no Heisman. All gone. Another November swoon. Add in an underwhelming recruiting class and we’re back to square one despite winning 10 games.

Going into this season we all knew this team would be far better than the previous years team. Now, it’s almost a certainty next years team will not be as good as this years, and that just sucks.

Meh.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. A lack of talent, poor coaching, and failure to capitalize on a weak schedule all came back to haunt us. We fumbled. It is what it is.

Now, fix it next season.

By then, it will be the offense.
Can't help feeling that we squandered the best offense we were going to have in Miami for a couple of decades ..
.. not even making the ACCCG

You’re preaching to the choir. Too many sensitive people on this site so I refrain from sharing my thoughts on where we are talent wise.

Only part is it’s untrue that it’s almost certain next year’s team won’t be as good. Go back and check all the threads from the end of last season. The consensus was we’d be a 7 or 8 win team this year. **** can, and will, change very quickly. The rest I agree with. Weird to wake up today with no name and the season over when I was looking at trips to Charlotte and Atlanta a week ago.

100. I’m not saying it’s a surprise we are where we are, because we were playing with fire. Just something about today being championship day and we’re sitting on the sidelines, again. It’s a sickening reminder of the opportunity we wasted.

Why are so focus on UM losing 2 games as if the SEC team(s) did not loss more. This is not even a thing if the roles were reverse. Forget the school names and ask yourself would this have happen if school (A) from the ACC had 3 lost record and school (B) from the SEC had 2. If the answer is no then the CFP committee decision is wrong and the agenda put forth from the start of this season was successful!! Which is all SEC and BIG playoff.

The BIG held up their end and the SEC did not. Going foward this will work out the way it was intended or the Big 12 and ACC conference school not name ND will get ****ed again and again!!

I mentioned it a few times after the GT game that this was possibility.. Especially going into syracuse game, it was all on the line and if we didnt get it done, Cam opts out, season basically a waste..

The second this turned into a 12 team playoff, this became a SEC/Big X tournament. ESPN and SEC are running the show. The rest of us (ACC, Big 12, G5) are guests. You are delusional if you think Bama wasn’t going to get ahead of us. We knew this and blew it. It’s on us. Why are fans crying about this?

Soon, the SEC/Big X will create their own league and give a middle finger to the rest of the country.

The margin of error for acc teams is just so small. After the GT loss, our playoff started and we had to win the last 2.

Bama loses 3 (including a recent blowout), who cares. We lose 2 close ones, and it’s game over.

Sucks because I was really looking forward to being in charlotte today to cheer on the canes and as you said, it felt like a flash from 21-0 to poof it’s gone.

Forgot ND....why do they get the benefit of the doubt?

Let's just face it this whole playoff system is rigged and if ACC doesn't have 2 undated teams going into the conference championship then the ACC will always get 1 team in. But the SEC and BIG can lost you name the number of games.

Why to some have to be perfect and some don't? People don't like affirmative action, but we need these types of safe guards in place to make it fair for all!!
