The 2019 draft will be the first one that Richt and Co can claim to have developed a kid from HS to NFL while AT Miami. That doesn't mean that Richt, Diaz, Brown, Searels, Dugans, and Hartley haven't "developed" kids. It does mean Banda, Rumph, Simpson, Richt Jr, Gus, and Patke can start to take some credit.
As for kids developing, there are lots of kids who left Miami in the 2005-2015 timeframe who were not finished products. At least Richt & Co are getting more from the kids that are willing to work, vetting kids to find more of the hard workers, and also landing better athletes/talents. The product on the field should continue to improve over the next 2-4 years as we finally get closer to 85 kids and the average age increases with the additional spots.
New IPF, new dorms soon, Stadium renovation, U Family, better summer camps, better community outreach, better income for players from UM based on the full cost of attending, better S&C, better W/L records, NCAA sanctions have been over for a few years, NFL Alumni are involved again... lots of positives. If we have another 10+ season with almost all of the kids being signed by Richt then they hopefully can close strong with far more big name kids than currently committed.
