I think Yearby is going to be better than Duke

Duke is elite, Yearby is very very good. Yearby has quicker feet, he has some of the best feet seen in the last 10 years, but he falls off compared to Duke in the speed and strength department. Yearby is a pure between the tackles runner, but he lacks the size and strength for his style. Running through HS, even Dade HS ball, is completely different than BCS college football. Those 20-30 yard runs will turn into 5yd runs quick, still effective but at his point there are LBs out there that can run him down, and DL that can arm tackle him. The big question is whether Yearby can put on the proper weight, and so far it doesnt appear. I say this because of his overall build and that according to others on here Yearby has maintained about the same weight through out HS. Now I still am confident that Yearby will still do damage at the next level, but he is not on the same level as a prospect as Duke, nor will he the same career as Duke.

I really like Yearby myself but I will wait until the season starts.

Believe it or not, we did get the best back in Florida last year.

Let's sit back and enjoy the Duke & Yeaby show.

as good as duke is YEARBY is an elite RB

Have been watching tons of film on Yearby the past couple days...and there's no doubt in my mind this kid is special. The way this guy creates running lanes for himself is elite and is something that cannot be taught. i have YET to see a safety even have a prayer in tackling him when he puts a move on him.

We all love Yearby & see great things in his future...but to say that a kid who hasn't played a single down of college football is better than him is irrational & makes you look ignorant. Let's give the proper respect to Duke & what he has already done for this team/program in only 2 years

To be fair, he didn't say Yearby is better than Duke. He said he thinks Yearby is going to be better than him. What's irrational and ignorant about that? It's just a projection, a guess. We do that all the time around here and in sports generally.

I don't see any smack towards Duke or a lack of respect or attempt to bring him down. That's a reach.

Exactly and don't apologize to the board feminazi's who shouldn't be talking you down for your opinion.

Duke is a RB who has a lot of potential, but to the guy calling him the best at his position in the nation, that's a stretch at this point. So far, we know Duke can run all over poor to fair competition. He's yet to do much against good or even elite competition, this even dates back to the Army AA game that he got knocked out of. He's also yet to last an entire season. While I appreciate what he brings to the table, he's gotta do those two things to be considered best in the land.

Did you not watch the FSU game last year? He was tearing up the national champions on their on field. And if the ref did not blow the whistle early he probably would of had a 60 yard td which would of been one of the top plays of college football last year minus the Auburn return FG TD.

I guess nowadays you can't be entitled to your opinion. I respectfully disagree although I'm just as much excited about Yearby as the next fan. The only thing is Duke has a god given stiff-arm that you just can't simply teach in practice. Duke plays with a chip on his shoulder and is a very intelligent running back. Going back to your opinion I think the enthusiasm is great and I'm happy to see Canes fans excited about this season and the upcoming ones only the special ones transition smoothly from highschool ball to college and then from college to the pros. On that note lets kill those ******* Lady Birds Sept. 1

He was out there killing it with a 4yard per carry average. If, could've, and should've....When did we start counting plays that statistically never happened?

Don't let these haters affect your thinking you're not the only one there are many very close to the program and in the program that agree with you at this point

Duke had 90 yards rushing against FSU in one half before he got hurt. Try again sir.

You shut your ***** mouth...

J/K. I think Yearby can be really good, but Duke is special. I hope you are right.

Yearby is a great back and has feet like a sewing machine, good quickness and vision....HOWEVER, Duke is on another level. Possesses ELITE acceleration, balance, vision, change of direction and stiff arm.

The flipside to his YPC argument (which is hogwash) is that he was a workhorse with 23 carries and almost 100 against one of the best defenses in the country, IN ONE HALF. No doubt in my mind duke would have broke one off if he doesn't get hurt.

Realistically you got Todd Gurley, TJ Yeldon, Duke, and maybe Melvin Gordon. Only one of those who I might take over duke and that's Gurley. I'd definitely rather have duke then the other 2. The only question at this point is if he can stay healthy but if he does, I guarantee he gets 1,500+ yards and 15+ TDs

Remains to be seen if he's as good as Duke but I will say this.

He's got better feet. I'd be willing to bet his shuttle time beats Duke cause he's got ridiculously quick feet. His change of direction is off the charts and I have to think that translates into terrific short area quickness.

What none of us know yet, and won't know til the games go live is how good his vision is. There's no suppressing that fact and it's what separates the good backs from the great ones....vision between the tackles. The ability to anticipate a hole BEFORE it's there.

Will be fun to watch.
