I feel bad for Al and the players

Almost all you internet posters were not even there... Shut up and show up.

We did...it was a good game. I would have preferred a blow out, but I take the win.

Probably 55 k +

I've got some oceanfront property in Kansas if you're interested.

I actually own a bunch of oceanfront property! Most of which you'll never even conceive of owning in your lifetime... Stop with the drama unless of course your taking that class in school... Than your post fits right in.

The truth is somewhere in between. The tarps were off, and there were people in them, so I am guessing 45-50K. Where I am at (the mid 440's) was pretty full.

BTW, not to excuse our fans, but a noon game is pretty brutal to watch, and tough to tailgate. We should have our games start at 330 or at night.

Pretty much all of us in the game-day thread weren't there. Everyone does not live in South Fla. Everyone isn't able to just pack up and go.

Lol!!!! There were 25 k um employees dressed as Orange seats for Halloween. It was pretty ugly on TV. Sorry I couldn't be there due to child care issues.

we always have a decent turnout of hardcore fans. Maybe 50-55K/game. It's that monstrosity of a stadium that makes it look like nobody shows up. The only way we're filling Sunlife is during marquee matchups that bring in the casual observer and travelling fans from the other team. We are a small school in a big city full of distractions, it's pointless to compare out attendance to that of UF, FSU, VT, or LSU. And until we get a stadium sized appropriately for our fanbase, these threads will always come up

God our fans suck....first they don't go, then we ***** on our board about them not going constantly. I'm not sure who's worse the media or our own fans....for ***** sake, our 55k fans that were there yesterday fill up Stanford's stadium. STOP ACTING LIKE WE ARE A LARGE PUBLIC SCHOOL.

PhenomCane attends most home games. He texted me yesterday and said there was around 50K in the stadium just before halftime. (see comments from others about the students coming to the game and just hanging around the stadium, leaving early, etc.). I trust Phenom's assessment. He also said the tarps were off because they had sold 65K+ tickets. That made it look emptier than normal for a 50K crowd.

Been going to games for 30 years and yesterday was by far one of the worst student turn outs I have ever seen! It really blew me away how empty that section was! At one point I thought maybe all the bus drivers were on strike and the students were stuck on campus. And to make it worse, it was friggen homecoming. Sorry students, epic fail.

The amount of fans at yesterday's game was ridiculous. This "Operation Sellout" was a complete failure, with employees taking tickets knowing they weren't going to use them. From the posts I was reading I expected 65 or 70k there against Wake. We had maybe 35k there to support the #7 team in the country. I know the stadium sucks, but jeez... the excuses for there's things to do in Miami is getting old. These guys work there ****s off each and every week and they deserve more than this. At least they'll get to experience an actual crowd against F$U and Famous **** Saturday Night. It'll be closer than most think.

lol @ expecting 65k or 70k

You must be new here

What the Stadium looks like on TV is not a problem caused by UM's fans, it is a problem caused by UM. Sooner or later they will have to acknowledge the limited size of the fan base, and build a stadium to suit it. Or not, and continue looking bad on TV. Either way its a UM problem not a UM fan problem.

I'll also add what the other posters said about the stadium experience. Quite frankly, ITS SUCKS. Ive never been to that stadium and come away with an enjoyable experience. Its sterile and boring. TIs just such a downgrade from the OB that its hard to really enjoy.

1) we don't have a lot of students
2) we don't have a lot of students who really care about college football
3) we ask our students to go a long ways to get to and back from the game (it truly is the worst venue in college sports imo)

Dear Shalala, give me a 50K seater in tropical park. They already have bleachers, it wouldn't be hard to do. Please, it's all I ask

Fans here do not know how to get to their seats on time or at all. Anytime you go to one of the concessions or concourses there are people milling around at all times. I know of people who never go to their seats and hang out at the bar areas in the concession areas. Also, fans here have no concept of time. You cant start breaking down your tailgate 10 min before kickoff and expect to be in your seat in time for kickoff

I was shocked how many people were inside watching the monitors in the eating areas. Ridiculous.
