The amount of fans at yesterday's game was ridiculous. This "Operation Sellout" was a complete failure, with employees taking tickets knowing they weren't going to use them. From the posts I was reading I expected 65 or 70k there against Wake. We had maybe 35k there to support the #7 team in the country. I know the stadium sucks, but jeez... the excuses for there's things to do in Miami is getting old. These guys work there ****s off each and every week and they deserve more than this. At least they'll get to experience an actual crowd against F$U and Famous **** Saturday Night. It'll be closer than most think.

More than 40k, sadly the section with most empty seats in the lower bowl was the student section.

Not to mention the constant negativity and arm-chair quarterbacking we get from the general public. I'll tell you, for the legions of folks who ***** and gripe about everything related to the program, we sure don't have many of them showing up on Saturday's.

From the aerial view the parking lot looked packed. Guess they all stayed out and continued to tailgate.

It was filled up a bit after 1st qtr....a lot arrived late it seemed. But it's not the general public constantly *****ing...it's our own fans too.

It isn't the stadium.....its the in-home experience.

There are tons of pro teams having trouble getting butts in the seats (in more than just football too). Miami isn't some small college town. For stuff like this, we fall into the same categories as the pros, unlike Bama, UF, FSU, and tons of other BIG schools in SMALL towns (yes, I don't consider Birmingham or Tally to be big cities).

Is it embarrassing? Of course. But I don't know how you solve it. And I don't think its a money issue, or a facilities issue. You can fix up the stadium all you want AND cut the ticket/parking prices in half.....I still think a large percentage of people are going to prefer to gather in air conditioning, with their food/drinks of choice, and watch the games with friends on their large high definition TVs.

I've read the future of stadiums for pro teams in metro areas is smaller, more intimate settings with luxury accommodations. Maybe we need to start planning for that as well.

Dont know why I thought there would be 55k there. I guess I was dumb enough to think that employees would actually come to the game. Cant blame it all on them though. The best case scenario now is that we can muster of 55k for the Vtech game i guess if we lose to FSU. If we win, if there isnt 60k+ for a game of that magnitude then our fans are a lost cause. Just give up completely on them and ride with the diehards which is about 35k.

Why come into the game when u can stay in the parking lot and hit lines of yay off the center console of your Honda Civic like the diehard U fans we parked next to?

It is the stadium. It's a **** abomination and words can't even express how much I hate that piece of garbage.

I love the Canes with all my ******* heart...which is the ONLY reason I go to all the home games. But the simple fact is the experience now vs the experience in the Orange Bowl is light years difference.

We need to get the **** out of there. Period. It's one of the worst gameday experiences/atmosphere in the country. The seats are too ******* far from the field and even at it's loudest (see Florida game) it still isn't "loud" compared to other stadiums or the Orange Bowl.

I know in about 2.5 seconds some sap will come along and remind us we have a 400 year lease with the stadium...but that doesn't mean we shouldn't keep hoping and praying some type of development happens regarding this issue.

Pray for the Marlins to continue to fail miserably and eventually leave. That would pretty much force the city into a corner. I pray for this scenario EVERY day.

It looked like more than the GT game but I was judging by TV. Looked less full because no tarps. Anyway, our fans suck, we know that. My dad left when we didn't get it on 4th and 1. I told him he never can use my tickets again, I was so ****ed

Its not specific to the Canes. No team down here packs the stadium regularly. Did you see the stands for the last Dolphins game? Panthers don't draw flies. Even the Heat, a-team with back to back championships and to Hall of Famers on the roster don't come anywhere near selling out most nights.

Play good teams every week. It will fill

Nd
Ohio state
Fsu
Fla

Those games will fill up.

Heat sellout, their fans just don't show up until midway through the first quarter.

The "there's more things to do in Miami" thing is a crock o' ****e. If you're a real sports fan you go support your team. We just don't have many.
