I’m sad…

I'm sad too man. This ******* hurts. I was 7 at the Rose Bowl (and 9 at the Orange Bowl in 2004) when we last won anything of consequence, so my whole experience as a fan has been hoping to see us once more soar to heights I was unable to appreciate as a little kid. Other than those great memories, it's been nothing but pain. The worst games I ever witnessed (in person) were the 2005 Peach Bowl and the 2007 OB finale. This doesn't compare because I'm so used to it, but objectively it is as bad for us fans and the program: Cam Ward is the real deal--so are Fletcher, Martinez, Arroyo, Restrepo, and the OL. We ******* wasted the best offense I've seen here since 2002!!! And in our down years, we have had some amazing defenses: i.e. 2004-2006; 2016-2018.

I never fully believed, but I had just enough hope to be strung along against my wit. This team had such an opportunity this year with the elite offense and special teams (kicking game at least). I am dumbfounded at how bad our defense is. They are so bad, they make the offense WORSE, because the offense can't just run whatever plays they want, but has to play ball control.

The worst part is Miami has made watching football an experience of constant, frenetic anxiety: I'm always waiting for the flag, inopportune turnover, untimely drop, missed tackle, etc. Ugh.

Is it too much to ask your team,-- to play in the conference championship more than once every 20 years? And we were absolutely destroyed in the one we did play in.

I was expecting a win today, especially after they went up by 3 TDs, but it is what it is. I enjoyed the season for what it was. Never thought this was a championship team. Hopefully they can build on this year and be even better next year
Same, I no longer can expect more after the last 20 years, but it hurts every year.

No you’re just cherry picking to fit the narrative you want to believe in the present time……but have at it.

It was a rough loss
That’s not cherry picking. That’s being the worst in the country over his 3 year career at Miami. If you lose more games than anyone against teams who are way worse than you, that’s called having a ceiling on your success.

No it’s called underachieving

5 wins
7 wins
10 wins

The ceiling has yet to be defined

After Syracuse scored quickly to cut the lead to 21-7 I knew it was not likely to end well.

That and an 2nd-half opening 3-play 75-yard drive to tie the game at 21?

The Canes were cooked unless Cam was Superman and Miami scored TDs every drive.

I don’t understand how you **** this up. Mario is the worst coach in the history of this program and it’s not even close. The guy wastes everything and we as fans, alumni, and the school gave him everything to succeed. What does this dumb **** do- welp he loses to an awful GT and Syracuse. Do you understand how hard that is to do? We are an embarrassment.

We needed a miracle vs cal and Vt.

Smu would wax us next week.

Sad, mad, disappointed and perplexed.
All describe this season.
Don’t know why I expected anything different from this program that has delivered the same thing for the last 23 years. It’s insanity.

Oh well, at least we won 10 games. Back to 7-5 or 8-4 next year w/o Cam Ward.

****, even those FSU cucks were at least able to win the conference last year, something we haven’t managed to do EVER.

Can someone please explain to me why I continue to support this dumpster of a program?

@Rellyrell

Tell me this was fixed. No way we fumbled da bag like that.

😭😭😭

Oregon fans will tell u it’s not. This was my concern w/ the hire. Every year, Oregon lost games they had no business losing based upon talent acquisition & schedule. The frustration were clear paths to the CFP, & poof.

This feels like 2017 all over again.

I really don’t think you understand what happened this past year. Mario got whatever he wanted monetarily to land guys, to win now. He took the most money and the most talent and didn’t win. The 2024 Miami team was an investment, and Mario set it on fire. He failed his investors. They won’t forget that and they’ll remember it the next couple months when he asks them for more.

He didn't get enough money to land Jeremiah Smith, or land any big time DTs or safeties or corners out of the portal. They were all out there to be had, we just didn't have the NIL funds or our NIL people didn't want to pay what it took.

I predicted 9 wins this offseason. I wasn't alone. The fact is, the investors invested enough to get a 10 win team. If you want more than that, you have to invest like a Georgia or Ohio State or Texas do.

This is an 8 figure roster. He got enough to land multiple 5 stars and flipped some from major programs. He got enough to land Cam, Powell, Baron, Barrow and Brown. There are no excuses. This was the weakest schedule Miami has played in a decade.

And those players were enough to get us to 10 wins. You want more than that, you would have needed to add five or six more.

lol, from a 30,000 foot view this season was a success. It’s just hard to reconcile what’s in front of you only to give it up against teams like GT and Syracuse that don’t recruit anywhere near your level. Had you told me before the season Miami would:

Blowout UF/FSU
Hit double digit wins
Have a prolific offense with a legit Heisman contender at QB

I would have taken it and so would anyone else. It’s just harder to swallow when you choke like this.
