I’m sad…

Probably gonna lose a few hundred bucks on Championship ticket resale. Won't ever make that mistake again. I'll always root for the U, but will just be doing so from my couch.
I’m forced to go to the game I’ll never buy again before the season I’ll buy week of like I did in 2017

… for each of you who believed this season was special, that a new era had begun, that something was truly different.

I’m not a mope, I’m not a realist, I’m extremely cynical — and this program is somehow worse than my most cynical instincts. Nobody who is “down on Mario” was right today. None of us won anything, we just might’ve lost a little less, because we had less on the line.

My deepest passion died last year when he didn’t take a knee. I’ve felt bad in sports many times, countless times, it’s a right of passage. I’ve never been humiliated in front of the entire country by a single play, cucked by a man who created a brand new way to lose. That was the day the music died for me. I enjoyed some games this year, I love that my son loves football. Otherwise, following this program is a waste of my life, with no value added in any category of my existence.

Those of you who believed this season would be special genuinely deserve better than this program will ever give you. I don’t, but you do.

And that makes me sad.
Low T sucks glad you are better now

lol, from a 30,000 foot view this season was a success. It’s just hard to reconcile what’s in front of you only to give it up against teams like GT and Syracuse that don’t recruit anywhere near your level. Had you told me before the season Miami would:

Blowout UF/FSU
Hit double digit wins
Have a prolific offense with a legit Heisman contender at QB

I would have taken it and so would anyone else. It’s just harder to swallow when you choke like this.
I have no idea how anyone can say this season was a success. The most expensive coaching staff with the most expensive roster and the most expensive and best QB. This was dubbed an “all in” season by everybody in and around the program. They didn’t even make the conference title game. Failure.

It sucks that I did not enjoy the games. My wife was always saying that I was so negative. I told her that we were lucky to have Ward. However, this team is the most stressful team I've ever watched since the defense was the WOAT, and we are never going to have an offense like that. What a waste of a year.

Is what it is. We made progress but still not elite roster and that’s what Mario requires to win. (if then)
And it won’t ever be an elite roster

He’s not an elite recruiter

We got lucky as **** to have the best player in college football this year , over achieved on a soft schedule

Because in 20+ years this program has accomplished 10 wins 3 times including this year. Because the trajectory with Mario is 5, 7, and 10 wins. If it’s a step back next year then things change…..and I get it today was a failure. Objectively it’s progress, subjectively people can believe what they want.

I don't know; I think because of PTCDSD (Post Traumatic Canes/Dolphin Syndrom Disorder), this season was somewhat reserved, compared to many over the past quarter century. Devistating as it is, I don't think anyone of us who've been waiting for the other shoe to drop since GT, didn't kind of see this coming, or at least a very ugly ACC or playoff loss.

Sure, we wasted a generational QB and a pretty good OL and RB. But like the Marino-era Dolphins, you gotta sync up a Defense when you hit on all cyclynders on O.

I still chalk it up to The Curse of The Orange Bowl. They tore out the championship Heart of the city when they tore it down, and not much good has happened for either team since.

Opportunity wasted, the way things lined up this year, with our easy schedule, talent on offense and a generational QB, it certainly looked like this could be the year to finally win the ACC and make the CFP. As most of us agree we probably won't find another Cam, blame falls 100% on a horrible defense. We look completely lost on that side of the ball, we found a way every week to make games close against teams that we were clearly better than talent wise. We have no pass rush, can't contain the edge, can't cover and can't tackle. If it weren't for D'onofrio, Guidry would rank as the worst DC we ever had. If this guy doesn't get fired after our toilet bowl game, we could wind up looking like FSU next year.

Man, Mario isn't winning titles anywhere, no matter the talent. In this day and age, with rosters changing wildly every year because of the portal, he will never build a team for long term success.

I really don’t think you understand what happened this past year. Mario got whatever he wanted monetarily to land guys, to win now. He took the most money and the most talent and didn’t win. The 2024 Miami team was an investment, and Mario set it on fire. He failed his investors. They won’t forget that and they’ll remember it the next couple months when he asks them for more.

This is the only perspective. Dont know if he can get there but the roster he needs to win wasn’t this one (by his own doing). **** sure not with Guidry.

I think he has the ability to recruit at that level but he’s been short of it to this point.

And recruiting at that level to overcome his own shortcomings is asking a lot given the big time players want to play in the SEC or BIG 10

I understand perfectly, hence why if next year is a step back then things change. The finish to recruiting and portal will tell a lot too.

Investing heavily into a one and done instead of sustainability is stupid anyway.
