I’m sad…

Oregon fans will tell u it’s not. This was my concern w/ the hire. Every year, Oregon lost games they had no business losing based upon talent acquisition & schedule. The frustration were clear paths to the CFP, & poof.

This feels like 2017 all over again.
What are the odds a dozen players or more opt out of whatever bowl game Miami is invited to and the Canes get their **** pushed in by whatever team gets to play this defense.

I would be shocked if any draft eligible starter returned and wouldn’t be surprised if quite a few other players opted out and jumped into the transfer portal.

Yikes!

Agreed. Losses like today makes you lose credibility. Mario Cristobal is a laughing stock and really lost a significant amount of clout today. This feels like the start of a failed tenure. Reminds me of Golden at the Champs Sports Bowl against Louisville in 2013. The signs are there I'm afraid.

We had a trash defense before they ever stepped on the field in August to play their first game. We probably have the least talented secondary and one of the least talented linebacking cores in the entire ACC.

The ceiling on this team was set in the offseason when we lost our starting secondary to the NFL and didn't replace them with quality portal players. One of our big boosters decided they would rather have a new car than a natty, I don't know. But that's when this was decided... it wasn't today.

You can't win natties being good on only one side of the ball. Anyone who thought that before has now gotten a hard dose of reality. Really, you want to be a top 10 offense AND a top 10 defense. We were the #1 offense but probably the worst defense in the P4. That won't work. Hopefully now, everybody understands that.

We can actually afford to let our offense slip a tiny bit next year, and if we add a bunch of studs to the defensive side of the ball and give them a simple scheme to run and coach up fundamentals, we can be a better team in 2025 than we were this year.

We were never a complete team. No amount of scheming or coaching could have fixed that.
All of Mario’s losses are to teams he out recruited……it’s Corch’in

This. As much as I wanna have faith and hope that he can turn it around based on building the lines, “toughness”, and recruiting. The signs are there.

We’ve had great recruiters before and look where that got us. Again, objectively Oregon has gotten better since he left.

I’m still on the train but we’re losing steam

Stop trying to make the curse a thing. Honestly it's only talked about by maybe a handful of posters across several message boards. This team was in the dumps at that time. Do you remember the last game in the Orange bowl? Nah curses ain't got nothing to do with it.
Yeah, I was there, Hoss. And that's where it started, as the Canes were leaving—because Virginia's TEs are still wide open and the Rock should have gotten the check back he handed Sahalala that night.

The greatest NFL team and the greatest college football team played there as their home field—the history, the bowl games. It was the heart of Miami and their teams, home of champions, and it was cast to the curb. Curses got nothing to do with it? See how this year season is remembered for wasting a generational QB. its been almost a quarter century now for the Canes and a once-storied program. Other programs that were nothing have built up, fallen off and built up again in that time.

But tell me something good that's happened to the Fins or Canes since.

Look there is no perfect coach. The nick saban era is over. The nil and transfer portal is going to make it to where we won't see these mini dynasties anymore you will probably see a different natty champion every year from now on I mean look at the Georgia and Ohio State they were penciled in to be in the natty. Dan lanning is a better coach but he hasn't done **** at Oregon either he hasn't won a title that's all at matters. That could change this year. I support the canes because I am an alumni. But my non biases opinions says Mario will not field a natty title team ever. He has choked in the portal I don't understand how you can hired a coordinator and they can bring their guys with them. So this year the QB looked elite but he did take forever sometimes to throw the ball instead of check downs also when we are suppose to run more we didn't. The defense was inexcusable period. Will Mario fix all the issues we see probably not.
