The 4-6 men's tennis team will be trying to add a couple wins to their total for the season tomorrow as they will play a double-header on Tuesday, March 10th. I presume this is supposed to make up for the rained-out Bethune-Cookman double-header on February 28. They will play Valparaiso at 11:30 a.m. and Quinnipiac at 6 p.m. at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Fla.

This is the first meeting against both Quinnipac (11-2) and Valparaiso (3-4). The Crusaders enter the match-up with an 11-2 record.

Miami wins both in a double-header today to pad their record for the season. They defeated Valparaiso in the morning and Quinnipiac later in the day. Both by 6-1 records.
They go full throttle into the ACC now and it will be brutal. Of the next 11 duals, I see them maybe beating Boston College. Any other win will be a huge upset. They are 6-6 now. That will take them to 7-16. Add on another first round loss in the ACC tournament and that should leave them with a 7-17 record for the year.

Go. Canes.

Ever since the pro set and"Doubles point", who cares?

Tennis should be 6 singles and 3 doubles, all 3 sets!
 
Miami had no chance whatsoever today, getting a full beatdown by No. 12 UNC. Lost two doubles and trailed in the third. No. 2 Langmo might win a second set but the Heels already have won 5 singles and the first 10 sets, including two bagels and three breadsticks. They were still playing the remaining two singles matches for whatever reason. Next scheduled beatdown is No. 6 Duke on Sunday.
 
The guys gave Notre Dame a bit of a scare today but as often the case this year, they came up short and lost 3-4. It's their fourth 3-4 loss of the season. The team is now 6-10. They face Boston College on Sunday. They should win, but unless a miracle happens, it will be the last win of the season for them. Still looking like a 7-17 season.
The ladies are doing much better but their ranking refuses to go up. They are at 11-3 (7-0) and beat No. 8 Virginia yesterday so their ranking should finally go up a bit from No. 16 next week. One of the most underrated teams in the country. They should end up with around 20 wins for the year and another Sweet Sixteen finish. Going to be hard to break through Duke/UNC though.

The men's team won as expected on Sunday, defeating Boston College 6-1. They managed to lose the doubles point which is never a good thing but swept the singles. This leaves them at 7-10 (1-5). Without some sort of miracle, the Canes will lose their remaining matches: No. 32 Florida State, No. 23 Louisville, No. 12 Wake Forest, No. 38 NC State, No. 16 Virginia Tech, No. 8 Virginia and finally another match against a ranked team in the ACC Championships to end the season.
The women coughed up a huge hairball on Sunday. After beating No. 8 Virginia on Friday, they inexplicably lost to No. 47 Virginia Tech 3-4 for their first ACC loss of the season. No words to describe this one. Just bad. Maybe it will wake them up and help them not overlook anyone for the rest of the year.
For the men, the question now is whether Rincon will remain as coach next year. My guess would be yes, seeing how the athletic department is being run lately.
 
The men's team went up to Tallahassee today. The matches were actually televised by ESPN today because of FSU's contract to televise a few duals this year. It's pretty rare to be able to watch the Canes live.
It might have been better that it wasn't televised though. Canes No. 1 Lomacki was absent. No explanation was given on the home page or on Twitter of course. As a result, all of the Canes had to be bumped up a slot.
The Canes didn't have a chance. They were blown away in the doubles matches. The third match was stopped at 6-5 after the other two ended quickly. The singles matches were also blowouts, with only No. 2 Gonzalez winning the first set but finally falling in a third set tiebreak. The 7-0 loss was the Canes 11th of the season and leaves them at 7-11 (1-6). Louisville is up next and we can expect more of the same. Especially if Lomacki has not returned.

The women defeated No. 24 Duke 6-1 to bounce back from their first ACC loss last week. The are now 12-4 (8-1). They will now play No. 2 UNC on Sat.
 
This is pure panzy grabass stuff. A bunch of foreigners running around touching eachother yelling "We won the doubles point! Now let's win five games in a given singles match!"

SIX two of three set singles, THEN THREE two of three set doubles and the winning team is best 5 out of nine.

Why don't they just play soccer? Seriously.

GLAD we can't compete. Any team that is good in this format ...should take up soccer.
 
Looks like the wheels have come completely off of the men's tennis team. They went up to No. 23 Louisville today.

Horrible. Words cannot describe how bad this team is now. There need to be some changes after this season. If there are not, the school will prove that they care nothing about results.

The women's team lost 5-2 to No. 2 UNC today. This ended their 24-match home winning streak. The last time they lost at home was almost two years ago. This drops them to 12-5 (8-2).
 
Miami Canes men's team lose their 4th consecutive 0-7 blowout loss. They've won one set in each dual.

Words cannot describe this.
 
The Canes men go down to their 5th straight 0-7 loss. They have not won a single dual point since they beat Boston College on March 29. They have dropped 70 of 76 sets since then. The level of ineptitude is indescribable.

They actually took two sets today. Tefel came this close to actually winning his match. This is considered a small victory for the '15 Canes.

Their ACC record is abysmal. They have just one more match remaining. They will go up against No. 5 Duke in the first round of the ACC Championships. There is very little chance of winning that so that will end their season. Seniors Gonzalez and Tsukamoto will finish their Canes careers without a single NCAA tournament appearance. wow

The new Prez MAY care about Tennis...Is Rincon's job in jeopardy?
 
Another ACC school and I would say yes, but this is Miami... Who knows if the new guy will care what the tennis team is doing. It's not like the team brings in money or anything. And as the school proved by the name on the ball park, it's all about money.
 
Have we beaten Loiusville in any sport in the last decade? We should hire THEIR President and AD

Krijax, are you an old skool Canes tennis fan? When I did my official visit back in '85, it was for the Georgia match (back with Pernfors and we had Berger, who once beat me 6-1, 6-1 in the State Championships round of 16, then he ended up losing to Steve Longley, who I had beaten the week before :O )

Nice visit, they had me play two matches against starters, one dude was like a 30 year old South African named Chris Lowe or something. Played 5 singles for them. I whupped 'em and they offered me right then
