How Do We Fix This?

Idk, I'm not completely out and I'll tell you why.

Pre-season, 90% of ppl said 10 wins is the prediction and for the most part the expected win total. Fact of the matter, the roster is not built. It took Kirby multiple years to build his roster top to bottom.

Mario did show something this season that nobody expected. He adapted away from his caveman offense. To me, that was always the biggest hindrance he had. With that corrected, we had the #1 offense in the country.

Now, things we need:

1. We NEED to continue to stack top 8 classes. Idc how, we need to finish strong this next week and get into top 8. Otherwise, were not on the Kirby track.

2. Guidry, yea he needs to go. I just can't get on board with the continously dropping a DE into coverage, being out leveraged, and stunting all the time. We also seem to not allow Dline penetrate bc idk how this dline didn't create more havoc this season.

3. We don't need another Cam. Would be nice, but Dawson has now had two very successful QBs. Clayton Tune and Cam. One is a first round pick and the other not. So the offense can put up points. No where I dont understand him, is why we don't run outside. We did it once last game (and i think all season), and it looked great. I dont understand why that isn't more a part of the offense.

4. There's more but I need to go
I said 10-2 in the offseason and that was because of who the hc is. With our talent advantage plus that awful schedule 10 wins was a must. But I also knew even if we were big favorites most weeks my boy would side swipe a couple mail boxes with the Ferrari

The detailed analysis by OP is solid.

But it's not that f****** complicated. Not sure what can you do about quarterback next year and I believe is going to take about a year or two.

The mentality of our defensive players is Charmin. Watch old Cane videos. We ran ish.

I want a team of Pitbulls and American Bulldogs. Not Bankers.

Alright, so let's fire everyone and start from scratch. Who are we hiring? The same Lane Kiffin who lost to UF? Glenn Schumann with zero head coaching experience? Kalen DeBoer who got blown at by Oklahoma? Hugh Freeze?
Brother, everytime you fire and rehire a new staff of coaches you in essence are starting over. The one constant who remains is the head coach who can't seem to figure it out when it counts. Manny was terminated after three seasons for the same record that Cristobal has now.

I don't think that is the flex you think it is. DJ U was like 13th ranked qb.
Alright, just so I am clear, you want to be in on all of the top transfers but also we need to make sure those transfers are actually good 100% of the time?

I can't keep up with how fast these goal posts are moving.

We’ve went from 5 to 7 to 10 wins.

as disappointing as the loss was some are overreacting. Even from a talent standpoint with Brown, OJ and Zaquan we’ve got talent in secondary. Is it a top tier unit in the country? No. But there’s no excuse for those results.

I think a big part falls on Guidry. Too much Mauigoa on obvious passing downs. Too reliant on stunts and dropping DE’s like Messidor into coverage.

You are arguing with yourself that is why. Other than Cam, we could have played nearly anyone else on roster and gotten similar results that we did with all other transfers that played. Roster management is my issue. We should be able to develop talent we recruited while nitpicking the top players in portal. Clemson would still whoop us with none.

We had a freshman All-American last season. We might have another one this season. Almost the entire offensive line are Cristobal recruits and most of them are likely pros. We aren't perfect. But no one is.

And I know you aren't caping for the same Clemson team that lost to Louisville (a team we beat on the road) at home? Could Clemson beat us? Yeah, of course. But whooping us is a wild statement to make after seeing what Clemson did this season.

Ok, name all the players that improved this year. I'll wait.

Yes, going into next year. And I am still worried. All that hate in your heart needs a release!
Well let’s see who leaves and who signs with Miami then I could have an answer for you. Right now with the portal it wouldn’t surprise me if this team would look completely different next year especially on defense.

Horton
Bell
Mauigoa
George
Restrepo
Arroyo
Bissainthe
Frederique
McCoy
Moten
Aguirre
Fletcher
Pruitt
Lofton
Lyle

Again, not perfect, but if you expect everyone to be an All-American, I've got bad news for you.

There's really five things that Mario's gotta do.
  1. Spend big $$$ on a B1G/SEC DC who is proven and can recruit.
  2. Give your new DC all the space and maneuverability he needs to build out his staff.
  3. Continue recruiting at a high level and close strong on ESD. Need a Top 5 class.
  4. Portal a good QB (won't be Cam, but there's talent out there), portal 3 DBs, 2 DTs, a solid LB. Portal in 1-2 solid WRs. We have tons of talent at that position but there needs to be competition.
  5. Win 9 regular season games next year. Miami's only won back to back 9 minimum win seasons once (2016-2017) in 20 years. We need to sustain some floor.
Worst case - hopefully - Mario does enough to load up on talent and wins 9-10 a year with the occasional ACC Championship appearance and he steps aside a few years down the road. The guy is like Richt, in the sense that if he knows he can't get us where he wants he will step aside.
Mario does less with more, not more with less.

Shannon went from 5 to 7 to 9. Golden went from 6 to 7 to 9. Were those successful tenures in your opinion? The story will end the same because history has shown us that mediocre coaches produces mediocre results
